To make a fortune is within everyone’s reach, contrary to what one might think. No need for a big capital, an inheritance or a business: thanks to simple and accessible tips, Marc Mazière changed his life. Here are his secrets.

Several years ago, Marc Mazière faced the economic challenges that many young graduates faced: at 25, with a master’s degree in his pocket, he was in a precarious situation and he had just on the side. After two years of unemployment, he lived with the RSA and housing allowances, convinced that he had to do something. “I remember, I said to myself: it is not possible, I cannot stay like that. With a bac +5, being at the RSA, it is not what I had imagined for my life”, he told us. One day, he decided to act to change his situation. His relatives already nicknamed him “the king of good plans”, so he started to seriously look into the subject by reading books like Rich father, poor father by Robert Kiyosaki and Everyone deserves to be rich by Olivier Seban, in order to better understand the principles of financial independence and passive income. From there, the machine was launched …

Initially out of necessity, Marc implemented some strategies to save and subsequently to increase his income. “I grew up in a family where we were paying attention to each expense. For me, it was almost a game”he explains. He cooked meals with leftovers, used and lent his loyalty cards to his friends, and took advantage of promotions and reimbursement offers. He even went so far as to collect objects in the street to resell them. “One day, I found a microwave in the street. I cleaned it, tested, and sold 30 euros on the right corner”he says smiling. But his real turning point came when he decided to invest the little savings he had, around 4,000 euros, in income -generating assets. “I almost dilapidated everything in a car and a game console, but I have recovered”, he admits.

Marc started Petit: a parking space in the 20ᵉ arrondissement of Paris, bought 10,000 euros with a credit. “I wanted to make my hand with a little risky. I rented the place 80 euros per month. It was a mistake, because the parking lot was badly sized and not very profitable, but I learned a lot”, he said. Quickly, he turned to rental real estate. “My first apartment, I bought it in Toulouse, and he brought me 30 euros in monthly profits after taxes and charges.” It was just a start. In parallel, he created an online blog, a clever Radin, to share his tips with other people, an initiative that would become another source of income for him. Over the years, Marc has diversified his investments, investing in stock market stocks and SCPIs (civil real estate investment company). After three years, he already generated between 200 and 300 euros in surplus each month. Today, at over 30 years old, its investment portfolio and its global heritage are approaching the million euros.

For all those who seek to better manage their budget, Marc advocates “reasoned frugality”. “It is not a question of depriving yourself, but of adopting simple reflexes: preparing your meals in advance, avoiding prepared dishes and favoring raw products.” He also advises to find alternatives to reduce his expenses: “Shared subscriptions for streaming platforms, for example via Spliiit.com, are a great idea, as is second -hand purchases for furnishings”. Finally, for him, the secret of financial independence lies in the discipline and the ability to seize opportunities. “Many people do not believe it or put themselves psychological barriers. But for those who dare and hang on, it is possible”he concludes. A message of hope for those who start from anything, like him!
