Amel Bent has been on stage for almost twenty years. And since her debut, the 40-year-old singer has developed a surprising OCD! She never misses this ritual before meeting her audience…
On February 28, TF1 launched the highly anticipated new season of The Voice. And for this fifteenth consecutive year of the program, the teams brought together four big names from the French scene: Florent Pagny, Lara Fabien, Tayc and Amel Bent.
Amel Bent has some ocds: “Sometimes they make fun of me”
Invited on this occasion to the microphone of Christophe Beaugrand on the airwaves of M Radiothe interpreter of My Philosophy revealed some manufacturing secrets of his shows. Asked by his host about his “little ritual” or his “war cry” before entering the stage, Amel Bent was very honest. “My ritual is to sing, at least thirty times in a row, the first sentence of the show”she revealed without hiding. A ritual she never misses.
“For example, if I go on stage with ‘My philosophy’, ‘I only have one philosophy‘ (the first sentence of the song, editor’s note)I’m going to repeat ‘I only have one…’, ‘I only have one…’ I’m going to do it 50 times until I go on stage. That way I take care of my entrance!”she detailed. The singer has never had a “memory hole” when he entered the stage. A method which has clearly proven itself! And to conclude, with a smile on his lips: “On the other hand, my musicians, who are all in their ears (earphones, editor’s note) with me, they sometimes make fun of me'”.
Amel Bent alone before becoming a mother: “It was emptiness”
Mother of three children, Sofia, Hana and Zayn, Amel Bent recently explained to our colleagues at The Voice of the North how she managed to reconcile professional and personal life. “There is no question about how I reconcile the two. For me, one does not go without the other”she began. Before continuing: “Music is a bubble of freedom, I need the moments that I experience on stage, with the audience, I can say everything that is in my heart… But for a long time, when the curtain fell, there was nothing behind it. It was a void”.
“Now, when I come home, I find my lover, my children. I am 100% artist and 100% mother”finally concluded the one who shares her life with the former driving school director Patrick Antonelli, whom she married in 2015.
