Since the birth of her son, Jane (like many other mothers) lives at a hundred miles an hour and doesn’t have a minute to herself. So, from time to time, she organizes herself in her own way to take full advantage.
All women who become mothers are in the same situation: the birth of a child turns our lives upside down and brings its share of happiness and joys, but also fatigue and above all… A real lack of time! Between meals, cleaning, laundry, bathing, picking up the little one from the nanny or school, meals, homework and of course, work and transportation… It’s always a race . And the dad in all this? If he participates in his own way, let’s be honest, he often only does a tenth of the household chores (yes, but Monsieur has a tiring job!). “When I’m late coming home in the evening or when I go for a little errand, he often calls me to ask where I’m at because the little one is crying or the diaper needs to be changed and he doesn’t like it. That“, Jane tells us. “Unconsciously, he makes me feel guilty, I never have time for myself, and the few times I left in the evening to see friends, my husband would call me because he was having trouble getting our son to bed (obviously , it’s always mom who puts him to sleep)“, she testifies.
Like everyone else, Jane takes advantage of her days off to rest… But since she became a mother, she spends most of her vacations alone with the little one, her husband not really having any days off. .. “Actually, it’s not a relaxing vacation, because I manage everything on my own and I still don’t have time for myself,” she confides. Recently, she decided to get back into sport, to go running on Sunday mornings to clear her mind and get back in shape. But above all, she took matters into her own hands to take full advantage. “I wonder why I hadn’t thought of it before!” she exclaims.
Jane has in fact decided to take a day off from time to time, just for her. This time, there is no question of managing the shopping, the house or the meals, whoever is hungry orders or cooks! “It feels really good! I organize my day in advance, I contact friends and I make my beauty appointments. And above all, I drop the little one off as soon as possible with the childminder. Then, freedom is mine: head to the spa, near my home, for two hours of relaxation. I then went for a shopping trip with a friend, a restaurant, a blow dry… And the outing that I hadn’t done for two years: a cinema (with popcorn!)”says the young mother who can finally enjoy without worrying or stressing.
“It’s MY day!”, she told the father who took charge of picking up the little one from the childminder that evening. “When I start to feel exhausted or tired of a routine that sets in, this day allows me to get some fresh air and leave in a better mood.”. Last summer, Jane also entrusted her little boy to go to the south of France for a little weekend with friends, a trip that she intends to repeat this year.
