David Hallyday has made a name for himself on the music scene. But did you know he also had acting skills? Johnny’s son even starred in a well-known American blockbuster…
Author, composer, performer and musician: when it comes to music, David Hallyday has more than one string to his bow. But it is not only on stage that the son of Taulier has proven himself. Invited to speak in We’re doing TV again on RTL, the 59-year-old artist actually made a surprising revelation about his career.
David Hallyday: his “slightly terrible story” on the set of an American film
David Hallyday starred in an American blockbuster… And not just any blockbuster! The father of Emma, Ilona and Cameron indeed made a very brief appearance in the saga Hunger Games. A replica of “a little less than two seconds” as his host Éric Dussart points out, where we hear the singer say: “Sorry ma’am, I can’t let you pass.”.
An extremely short experience which still left its mark on the singer, who found himself there “completely by chance”. “At the time, when I lived in the United States, I had an agent there. Who found my number, who called me and said: ‘We have a last minute problem, are you in France?'”he said on air. To which he therefore responded in the positive. “I helped out a little, someone who withdrew, I didn’t ask too many questions…”he explained.
And it’s up to him to detail: “I found myself on this shoot, where I had a somewhat terrible story in that I got lost when I arrived on set. I had to arrive at 7:30 in the morning, right in the middle of the fields in the forest of Fontainebleau. It wasn’t well signposted. I arrived half an hour late…”.
David Hallyday: his “not pleasant” experience with Jennifer Lawrence
David Hallyday’s story with this global super production therefore did not start very well. “I almost broke down (…) And so I asked a farmer who was in his tractor if he knew if there was any production around… I was panicked. I got there, they speeded me up (…) My heart was beating at 200”confided the father. Who also made a joke with Jennifer Lawrence, the star of the saga…
“I was put next to a girl – it was 8 a.m. – who was eating a chicken curry. Something frankly… And I said to her, in my turmoil: ‘You know we’re in France, we have croissants, pain au chocolat, nicer things to eat in the morning’. And she said to me: ‘yes, I know, but I need my proteins for the day'”continued the son of Johnny Hallyday. Before concluding: “And in fact, she reaches out to me, she says ‘hello, I’m Jennifer’ (…) It honestly wasn’t pleasant”.
