With 100,000 euros and great return ambitions, the temptation can be great to bet everything on the stock markets. Indeed, the offensive profile accepts to see its capital vary greatly from one year to the next, in exchange for a potential return higher than that of the balanced profile, and well above the cautious profile. This strategy assumes having already a security pocket next to itwith between 3 and 6 months of salary on a Livret A, but also a long horizon of more than ten years, and the ability to take a 30 or 40% reduction without panicking.

An offensive profile requires above all knowledge and a certain experience. “To be offensive, you must already a little more experienceor else train »warns Andrea Tueni, market expert at Saxo Banque. We never invest randomly, in products that we do not fully understand. Because when you take a lot of risks, mistakes due to inexperience can be costly.

An overweighted equity base, still diversifying

The basis of an offensive portfolio remains stocks, but the cursor can be pushed further than for other profiles: the stock portion can even exceed 80% of the capital. The PEA still retains its place, because it allows ETFs to be accommodated (always favoring progressive payments, since the DCA method smoothes the entry point). Let’s not forget that after five years, PEA gains are only subject to 18.6% social security contributions compared to 31.4% flat tax. But what sets our offensive profile apart from others is the possibility of targeting more nervous indices than the MSCI World, such as the Nasdaq or emerging markets.

“We can also go to a Leveraged ETFwhile remaining vigilant »believes Andrea Tueni. There are several eligible for the PEA:Amundi Euro Stoxx 50 2x LeveragedL’Amundi Dax Daily 2x Leveraged (on Germany) andAmundi Cac 40 Daily 2x Leveraged (for France). We also backed America: theAmundi MSCI USA Daily 2x Leveraged and theAmundi Nasdaq-100 Daily 2x Leveraged. To protect against a drop, to be used with great caution, there are also Inverse ETFs (when the market goes down, they go up, and vice versa): theAmundi S&P 500 Daily -2x Inverse and theAmundi Cac 40 Daily -2x Inversewith leverage too.

The securities account to aim internationally

But an offensive profile can go even further than the simple PEA. devote part of the amount to an ordinary securities account. “The securities account is more suitable when you are looking to boost yourself: it is more internationalwith access to American and Asian stocks, and greater geographic diversification”explains our expert. It also allows you to position yourself on cyclical valueswhose results closely follow the economic situation. When the economy accelerates, the automotive, luxury, semiconductor or raw materials sectors can be overweight; when it slows down, they drop out faster than average.

In a bear market, a well-positioned offensive profile can thus capture performance where a traditional portfolio loses value. “Being offensive is not not give up on diversification »reminds our expert. This profile requires a strong conviction in the choice of values, but also a management discipline : “ You need an objective when buying or selling, knowing how to take profits or accept your losses”recalls Andrea Tueni, because knowing how to sell is also difficult. Without this discipline, a portfolio concentrated on a few bets can collapse as quickly as it was built.

The securities account

Finally, our expert emphasizes that the securities account gives access to even riskier toolsonly for the most experienced. “We have access to currenciesto derivativesto CFDs or leverage ». A derivative is a product whose value depends on an underlying asset; the CFD, or contract for difference, bets on the variation of a price without holding the security, with leverage which amplifies gains and losses. Short selling, shorting, allows you to win when a market falls.

Be careful, there is no room for error with this type of product, which can amplify losses. According to the warnings posted by brokers, 70 to 80% of individuals lose money on CFDs, which led the AMF to cap the leverage (5 for a stock, 30 for major currencies). “The prerequisite is education: these are risky products, with a much greater potential for loss, you have to understand this market »insists Andrea Tueni.

With 100,000 euros to invest, you can diversify a little more, with atypical investments. For example, we have cryptocurrencies, even if the market is not doing very well at the moment, it can be an entry point for someone who has a strong conviction that the market will rise.
