Israel bombed a building in Doha, in Qatar, during a meeting of the top of Hamas. The Islamist movement spoke of a “failure” in an attempt to eliminate the negotiating delegation, but confirmed six dead, including Hamam Al-Hayya, son of the leader Khalil Al-Hayya, and an internal security agent of Qatar.
Emir Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani denounced the operation as “a criminal attack” and “a flagrant violation of national sovereignty”. “Qatar will take all the necessary measures to defend itself,” he added.
The White House reported that Israel had informed the United States shortly before the Raid, but Doha denied that she was pre -hung: “The call from Washington came while we already felt the explosions”.
Donald Trump, through his spokesman, has distanced himself: “Hit the Qatar, a narrow ally of the United States, helps Israel or the USA”.
Unanimous condemnation also from the European Union, which spoke of “violation of international law and the risk of escalation”, and by the UN secretary of the UN António Guterres. Italy, with Giorgia Meloni, expressed “closeness to the Emir” reiterating the opposition to any aggravation of the crisis.
Meanwhile, in Gaza the situation precipitates: the IDF has ordered the evacuation of all Gaza City and thousands of civilians are moving south, while the bombings continue and the number of victims grows.
