In winter, certain areas of the house encourage the circulation of dirt and viruses. Targeted cleaning helps limit their spread and maintain a healthier interior during the cold season.

As soon as temperatures drop, our interior becomes our refuge, but also a space where viruses coexist closely with us. To prevent the little evils of winter from affecting the family, the secret does not lie in major spring cleaning, but in paying attention to invisible details. By targeting the surfaces we touch without even thinking about it, we can block the path of microbes very simply.

In everyday life, we often underestimate the speed at which bacteria travel from one room to another. The simple act of moving around the house creates an invisible transmission network: each contact with an everyday object deposits or picks up germs. To keep a healthy home without spending hours there, we must therefore identify these strategic crossing points which, if they are not cleaned with precision, become the first accomplices of seasonal infections.

The priority area to clean is often underestimated: door and window handles. They are handled by all the occupants, several dozen times a day. During winter illnesses, they become a real point of transmission. A sick person can deposit viruses there, which will then be picked up by other members of the household by simply opening a door.

Cleaning the handles cuts this chain of contamination. A clean cloth, warm water and soap is sufficient in most cases. It is important to scrub the entire grip, including the back, the fixings and less visible areas. For windows, mechanisms and grooves should also be cleaned, as they easily retain dirt. This simple gesture limits the presence of viruses on the most affected surfaces in the house.

By integrating the cleaning of handles into the routine, we take concrete action on the spread of diseases inside the home. This reflex is particularly useful in winter, when colds, flu and other infections are circulating. By also thinking about cupboard handles, patio doors and entrances, we improve the overall hygiene of the house while strengthening the protection of the whole family, without adding a heavy burden to the household.
