According to the researchers behind this international ranking, the choice of location has considerable weight in the way in which the event is experienced and shared. Accessibility, charm, popularity on social networks, soundscape and even security: so many criteria that make it possible to identify ideal destinations. This work then made it possible to establish a world ranking which crowns a very specific French address. To establish this comparison, the authors selected thirty destinations known for their romantic power.
Indeed, each site was evaluated according to ten indicators, ranging from the cost of entry to weather stability, including cultural impact or “Instagram capacity”. The principle is simple: assign a score from one to ten for each criterion, before calculating an overall score. The idea was to identify the places which ticked the most boxes, while offering realistic conditions for organizing an application. Popularity plays a central role: the more a place is visited and immortalized on the networks, the more it inspires confidence in those who are about to take the plunge. But the surprise factor also counts: the study highlights the benefit of choosing a setting that arouses immediate wonder, without being too obvious.
So when it comes to designating the number one place in France, one site clearly stands out. Free to access, central, with an emblematic view, it attracts millions of visitors each year and is regularly displayed on Instagram with photos of couples. The place in question is the Jardins du Trocadéro. A breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower, a 100% French atmosphere and a green setting would be the most sumptuous setting to mark this day as it should be.
