Savings in working order. It is now through Allianz that holders of life insurance and retirement savings plans (PER) will be able to invest in defense and European sovereignty. On Wednesday, November 26, the insurer announced that it was offering two new units of account (UC) dedicated to these themes. The first is the Bpifrance Défense fund, open to the general public and to insurers who wish to list it, since October 14.
This is a fund known as private equitythat is to say capital investment in companies not listed on the stock exchange (mainly VSEs, SMEs, ETIs, and to a lesser extent startups). In total, this new fund will ultimately be made up of a portfolio of around 500 companies, including 70% French companies and 30% European nuggets. Allianz thus joins three players who have offered this fund in their contracts since its launch: the broker Meilleurtaux (via its life insurance contracts and its PER), AXA, and Natixis Interentreprises (via its group retirement products).
No blocking of your funds for 5 years with life insurance
“From January 2026, in the form of UC and with a minimum payment of 500 euros, this fund will be available within the life insurance offers of Allianz France: Allianz vie fidelity, Gaipare fidelissimo, Epargne retirement 2+ (Asac) and Allianz Wealth”explains Nicolas Boulet, investment director of Allianz France. As in the case of subscribing directly to Bpifrance, the target return (not guaranteed) will be 5% per year, with a recommended investment horizon of 5 years. However, this duration will not be binding: you remain free to withdraw your money (or switch to another UC) whenever you wish with life insurance.
“Unlisted is a riskier universe, we are aimed at a more high-end clientele”adds Nicolas Boulet. The second is perhaps more general public, since it is a “classic” equity fund, with no minimum payment, and invested in four sectors in Europe: defense or aeronautics, health, food, and reindustrialization. Here, the“The objective is to outperform large caps (large caps, editor’s note) in the euro zone. Any investment in stocks presents a risk, but in our opinion, the long-term return will be good for our clients.estimates Benoit Courmont, director of personal insurance at Allianz. Since the start of the year, this UC – previously called Allianz actions euro innovation – has posted a performance of 25%.
