At 42, Marilou Berry is a pure Parisian. Born in the capital, she grew up there and started her own family there. Today located in a very popular area, she would not leave the City of Lights for anything in the world.
Marilou Berry, who is about to go on stage for the very first time alongside her mother in the play That’s loveconfided in the newspaper THE Parisian to talk about her life in the capital, she who lives in a different neighborhood from the one where she lived a few years ago…
Marilou Berry “conquered” by Paris: in which district does the actress live?
It must be said that the daughter of Josiane Balasko and Philippe Berry, sculptor who died in 2019, is a real Parisian titi. Moreover, she says it loud and clear: she would not leave this city for anything in the world which always manages to make her “capsize”. And she has never tired of it! “There are not many places in the world that are so vibrant and ancient at the same time, with such a history”she also declared to the daily.
Mother of a little boy named Andy – born in 2018 to her couple with the street artist Le Diamantaire -, Marilou Berry now lives in the east of Paris, precisely in the 20th arrondissement of the capital.
After almost two decades in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, the actress Naughty therefore moved and seems nostalgic for his old neighborhood: “When I moved into my first apartment and then had my son, I lived in the 18th century. I was won over by this social mix, between bobos and working classes”she explained frankly.
Marilou Berry left her favorite neighborhood: “I realize that I don’t really know”
The actress, who cannot see herself living anywhere other than Paris, adds: “This corner between Porte de Clignancourt and Jules-Joffrin is not the most beautiful aesthetically speaking, but you can come across a grandmother there who is going to buy jelly eggs at the caterer or be immersed in an exotic atmosphere at the market which is very nice. I find this atmosphere less in the 20th century where I live today. And it’s impossible to find such diversity in the suburbs or in the provinces…”
Although proud of her city, Marilou Berry admits that she does not yet know it like the back of her hand. “Even though I have always lived in Paris, I realize that I don’t really know the south of the Seine. The 13th, 14th and 15th centuries are almost unknown to me. There is a real social break with the north that I frequent”.
