The event for Gaza in Milan, who had brought over ten thousand people to the square among students, families and activists, ended in the worst way. In the afternoon, inside and outside the central station, the tension exploded: a group of demonstrators dressed in black attempted to enter the railway stopover, clashing with the police. The result was a chaos of smoke bombs, charges and launch of objects that sowed panic between passengers and tourists. Sixty agents bruised, of which 23 already reported, about ten the protesters stopped.

Mayor Beppe Sala condemned “today’s vandalism, caused by violent fringes”, underlining that “does not help the cause of Gaza”. Premier Giorgia Meloni expressed “proximity to the police, forced to suffer the free violence of pseudo-manifestants”, hoping for “clear words of condemnation” by the organizers. For the Minister of the Interior Matteo planted, what happened was “a deliberate violent attack on the police forces”.

The atrium of the station turned into a trap: blocked passengers, tear and travelers smoke forced to take refuge in the bars or cover your face. Even a girl was injured in the head. Meanwhile, the transport strike, with the stop to the M1 and M3 lines of the metro, aggravated the situation. The railway circulation remained firm for half an hour, with delays up to two hours for high -speed trains.

“Not so a protest is carried out,” some peaceful demonstrators shouted, distancing himself from the most violent fringes. But in the meantime, in Milan, the procession started as a testimony against the war ended by leaving the city in chaos.
