In view of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics and Paralympics, here is the text of the prayer composed by Monsignor Mario Delpini, Archbishop of Milan. An invocation to God the Father so that these days of sport also become days of celebration, prophecy and sharing, capable of celebrating excellence, brotherhood and peace between peoples.

May they be days of celebration,
Our Father, Father of all!
Let it be a celebration for the meeting of peace between peoples,
let it be a celebration for the beauty of the races and the results,
let it be a celebration for the Olympics and Paralympics
they exclude no one.
May they be days of prophecy,
Our Father, Father of all!
Prophecy of the vocation to universal brotherhood,
prophecy for the testimony of honesty in all things,
prophecy because the Olympics and Paralympics
they plant excellence, friendship and respect in human affairs.
May they be days of sharing,
Our Father, Father of all.
Sharing because the party does not forget tragedies,
sharing so that resources are not for the rich, but for everyone,
sharing because the Olympics and Paralympics
they nourish the culture of peace.
Give us, our Father, Father of all, the Spirit of your Son Jesus
