«My father was a comediographer of Montenegrine origin, who also translated the works of Pirandello, and my mother, Marta Nervi, a pianist, well known; So, for me to move on a stage it was natural: I started as a dancer and then I fell in love with the cinema, seeing the film The road by Federico Fellini, and since then I wanted to act. Theater has been my passion since I started with the famous Rina Morelli company – Paolo Stoppa in the part of a girl in So it is (if you like) Di Pirandello who, precisely this season, I re -proposed in the role of Mrs. Frola, directed by Geppy Gleijeses. Now I have just debuted with Love lesson At the Franco Parenti Theater in Milan, just on April 23, the day I turned 90. ” As Milena Vukotic, in turning 90 on stage, shows how to do theater keeps lively and dynamic and faces, with enthusiasm, the first theatrical text written by the director Andrée Ruth Shammah, Together with Federica Di Rosa, a profound reflection on the conditions of the third age, inspired by the film Harold and Maude and Madame Pylinska and Chopin’s secret by Éric-EMMANUEL SCHYCTU, designed to celebrate Milena, but also all the elderly people who need to feel integrated and enhanced by contemporary society. In the blue room of the Parenti Theater, always exhausted, Madame A., played by Vukotic, is a plan teacher, who also dispenses advice, in a kind of sentimental education, to his seventeen -year -old student, Federico De Giacomo, a “listless young man”, full of fears and complexes who, driven by his mother to play the piano, also wants to receive a “love lesson” and life. The text also includes a narrator, the young aged boy who remembers the meeting that will change the life of both (Andrea Soffiantini) after some time. In a poetic scenography, enriched by delicate videos with the scenes that take place outside the house, projected into proscenium on a tulle, so as to make them evanescent, we witness the knowledge between the two who go from distrust to moments of extreme confidence.
Milena, from home to relatives, since she has starred in other shows, even during this season, works with passion for the text of Shammah, with her elegance and delicacy, e With great liveliness, the scene dominates, moving on the stage, even going up and going well with a steep spiral staircase. In fact, he says: “This opportunity for me to recite again in this theater is something unique, because Andrée Ruth Shammah has a heart that pulsates in all directions and brings us both as a author and as a director to a continuous enrichment, since even when he changes his mind and makes us redo the scenes with the opposite of what had been decided, it helps us to obtain an internal development that, despite my experience, enriches me and I never sense”.
The Shammah, in fact, wrote this text, for the first time as an author, also rethinking her personal experiences, In fact, he says: «Reasoning with Milena I wanted to reflect on the quality of life of the elderly who depends on the thought of having a” light “death, since what is afraid is to die badly in solitude; I had a very dramatic experience with my mother who killed herself, at 92 years old, since being very sick she feared to finish her life in the hands of others. Even my son’s father, my partner, was afraid of dying, but I had promised him to support him until the last. We absolutely did not want to make a text on euthanasia, indeed we enhanced love for life, vitality even in the elderly who still want to go out, to confront each other, Also thinking of the link with the Ravasi Garzanti Foundation with which we collaborate, which deals with the social insertion of the elderly, because they do not feel alone. My protagonist, Milena, wants the young protagonist to help her live not to die, and support her in facing the thought of death with serenity and lightness ».
Just lightly moves on the scene, almost dancing to make the lines of the text Milena, actress who worked with great directors such as Fellini, Scola, Monicelli, Zeffirelli, who has obtained many awards such as the David Lifetime Achievement Awardknown to the cinema for being the submissive wife of the unforgettable Fantozzi by Paolo Villaggio and in the fiction a doctor in the family in which he was the consultora of Linse -free grandfather of Lino Banfi, and who, at 90 years of age, puts himself at stake every evening with a lesson of love and concludes: “Every show is a mystery but I am satisfied with this work which is a great discovery and a moment of creativity and joy and there are moments of insecurity and doubt that occur enough. Regularly in our work, in the company we are all very complicit and united. Theater is an immense joy for those who do it and for those who welcome it as a spectator and I would like that with this new project everyone could realize how we are happy to be on stage from 17 to 90 years old! ».
