Written tests, grand oral, catch-up and replacement… The official baccalaureate calendar 2026 was published by the Ministry of National Education… with some tightening of the rules. This is an opportunity to plan your revisions and prepare for important moments of the year, both for candidates for general and technological baccalaureatethat at professional baccalaureate. What will change for the 2026 baccalaureate?
Several important changes have been announced by the Ministry of National Education concerning the 2026 baccalaureate. Or at least, several tightening of the rules. First of all, no more “drafting” will not be possible for students who obtained less than 8/20. This means that these candidates will no longer be admitted to the remedial tests, now reserved for those whose grades are between 8/20 and 10/20. Furthermore, the government intends toughen the correction instructions addressed to teachers. “I believe that a copy which is not written in an intelligible manner, that is to say with an absolutely deplorable level of spelling, syntax and grammar, cannot be average.declared Minister Edouard Geffray, who deplores overly lenient ratings. It could therefore be that fewer high schools will obtain the baccalaureate this year… Another change, which this time concerns 1era : a whole new anticipated mathematics test is added to the program, in addition to the written and oral French tests.

The dates of the 2026 professional baccalaureate exams
Like every year, the professional baccalaureate tests take place before those of the general and technological baccalaureate, and take place over several days, throughout the month of May.

Date of 2026 baccalaureate results and catch-up exams
High school students will know the baccalaureate results general, technological and professional from the Tuesday July 7, 2026. From there, the remedial tests will begin, for candidates who obtained between 8/20 and 10/20. These sessions will take place from Tuesday July 7 to Friday July 10, 2026: each student will receive a personal invitation with the date and time of the tests for which they have registered.
Dates of replacement baccalaureate exams
THE replacement written tests will take place from Monday 7 to Friday 11 September 2026 for the general and technological baccalaureates, as well as for the professional baccalaureate. These tests are intended for candidates who were unable to attend the June session, for any reason. “major and justified” such as hospitalization for example.
