One day I asked the homeless person in my neighborhood with whom I regularly discuss life and dogs, who he voted for. His answer, chiseled with intelligence, still leaves me speechless: “I vote for the right in France, the left in Europe and the far left in the world.” It’s all in this very clear distinction between the three spaces that is never made in France.
