This year too, the volunteers of Poste Italiane assisted the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association (Aism) which took to the streets for the “Aism apple” initiative, now in its 30th edition. In fact, last 4, 5 and 6 October, 14 thousand employees distributed bags full of apples in over 5 thousand squares throughout Italy in exchange for a minimum donation of 10 euros to support scientific research on this disease and other pathologies related.
The contribution of Poste Italiane, which for the second consecutive year supported Aism in this initiative, arises from the activation of a corporate volunteering model with the aim of implementing solidarity actions towards the community, through collaboration with non-profit organizations in the territory and the involvement of employees, encouraged to give concrete responses to the community’s needs outside working hours. An ethical choice that confirms the company’s commitment to supporting many initiatives, both nationally and locally, thanks to the contribution of the staff who have chosen to be part of the community of volunteers, which can be accessed by registering on the portal ” Poste Corporate Volunteering” and indicating the sector of interest.
To implement this important activity, Poste Italiane avails itself of the support of a permanent discussion table with the National Third Sector Forum to identify the projects, and the related strategies, on which to deploy its network of volunteers. It should be underlined that this corporate volunteering model, inaugurated last year with the “I do well” campaign, brings numerous benefits to the company, starting with the consolidation of its reputation in terms of sustainability and social responsibility.
Now that 2024 is drawing to a close, the group is ready to face the new year with a plan to relaunch the company’s volunteering activity which will put the people of Poste Italiane’s territorial areas at the centre, identifying the representatives who will collect information from colleagues on ongoing projects and new proposals.
All this, in addition to allowing the company to take stock of the results achieved and future objectives, is also a tangible sign of how Poste Italiane aims to be increasingly closer to the needs of the community. Furthermore, it will allow us to open a direct comparison with the various realities of the country to receive suggestions on how to improve the initiatives already in the pipeline and how to make the volunteer engagement and scouting activity more effective according to the bottom-up modality, starting from the situation initial (from English bottom, starting point).
A volunteer activity can be said to be truly effective if it has achieved all the pre-established results. Therefore, in 2025 now upon us, Poste Italiane will work hard to increase the number of participants in the volunteer community, encouraging the sharing of skills acquired in their respective sectors and encouraging employees to try new experiences also in other fields of the third sector .
