Inspired by a well -known sales method of our elders, the live shopping is not for the time being, not framed enough so that we can buy safely. On Tiktok and Vinted, he makes the scammers happy. Here’s how to protect yourself.
A new way of shopper, inspired by a popular technique about twenty years ago, proliferates at high speed on social networks. Similar to remoteshopping 2.0., It is called Live shopping in jargon. And it is those led by individuals who raise questions: the lack of supervision promotes scams, and in particular those linked to counterfeiting.
Led by these sellers of a new kind, he mixes two well -known formats of buyers and housewives: teleshopping and auction. Facing camera, the merchant presents the clothes and accessories sold. Spectators, potential buyers, comment to request additional information and/or place themselves on the room of their choice. Until then, nothing too bad.
But practice becomes problematic when it comes to luxury pieces (supposedly). If necessary, the seller observed activates a one -minute stopwatch during which customers must bid to hope to get their hands on said garment. It fixes an amount from which the auctions leave. The person who acquires the Grail – or the poisoned gift – is the last to have boredom at maximum prices. At the end of the Live, the transaction is then finalized on Vinted: the clothes previously paid by everyone are gathered in lots numbered and set at 1 euro for the form (a dress concluded at 210 euros will be paid for 209 euros via Paypal, then 1 euro on vinted).
First danger? The sale is concluded if and only if the buyer paid in the minutes following the auction. All smiles, the saleswoman requires customers to send him the money immediately on Paypalagainst the background of oppressive aggressive passive warnings: “If I do not have your payment within 5 minutes I leave it to y *** “,, “Payment in snapshots”, “Once the live is finished not going back the girls.”.. Impossible to think. And since it was we who have agreed to send him money, it is difficult to challenge a posteriori.
Second danger? In the event of counterfeiting, it is impossible to rely on the Tiktok or Vinted regulations to claim verification of the authenticity of the garment, and therefore compensation. On Vinted, the saleswoman in question fixes her lots at 1 euro: or is written black on white that can only be called in the authentication service for transactions of 100 euros minimum.
Obviously, everything is skilfully orchestrated to reduce our vigilance. In the comments, three tiktok profiles identified by the editorial staff encourage their peers to go there with their eyes closed: “It is given go for the girls” ; Comments to which the saleswoman hastens to react to increase the desirability of the part marketed: “Look at C **** today she wins everything, she doesn’t think she takes everything”.
These profiles also raise the auctions and then fade slowly when the room found a purchaser at a sufficiently expensive price … Except that we do not really know whether they are real buyers or not. However, between the question and obtaining the answer, we will have had time to give in to our impulses …
