Requiem for the reform of public broadcasting, even if its adoption was far from guaranteed. It was the flagship measure of the Minister of Culture Rachida Dati, but like all current legislative texts, the project aimed at creating a single company bringing together France Télévisions, Radio France, the INA and France Médias Monde (France 24, RFI, Monte-Carlo Doualiya) is buried, collateral victim of the dissolution of the National Assembly decided by Emmanuel Macron in the wake of the shock of European elections won by the extreme right in France. A dissolution – it is the first since 1997 – not only entails the immediate cessation of all parliamentary work, it also renders obsolete the texts currently being discussed in the Assembly. After the legislative elections of June 30 and July 7, everything will depend on the new balances at the Bourbon palace and in the government.
