«Because everyone had a love and we all lost it. It was the largest, the most important, the first … I don’t know. It is certainly an experience that unites most of the people. “

«Clearly family and friends. These are the people who are closest to you. Especially in the hardest, most difficult and tiring moments. The proximity of these people is fundamental in our life ».
Young people arrived at the last Sanremo. The festival is changing a lot. How did you find it?
«I felt a fish out of water, I didn’t expect all these guys. Fortunately, there were Giorgia or Marcella but I expected that there were also some peers to “contrast” this wave … (laughs). I would have liked to get to know these young people better but it was not easy to communicate even if they were clearly a little fascinated in meeting a singer who has a big past. Big even in the sense of years. They are 60 years of career. I was born before the parents of most of them was born ».

«They are the confirmation of many years of work, sacrifices, of renunciation and this the public warns him, is a very faithful audience and people of all ages follow me. «If I think of the profession of actor I only have one thing to say. Thanks to that genius, to the greatest theatrical director of all time, which was my teacher, that is Giorgio Strehler. Thanks to him, who believed in me, we are here today to do this Inter player ».
Among the characters he played at the cinema there is Salvo D’Acquisto whose cause of beatification began. What memory does he have of that experience?
«It was 1975, I was the same age as when it was executed. I remember that, as soon as we worn that divided on the set, I felt small, almost crushed by the weight of that story. Everything had really happened, there was no room for the invention or fantasy. Preparing for that role was different from any other experience. It was not a question of studying only bars or scenic movements, but of trying to enter the hearts and heads of a boy who, in order to save innocents, gave his life. Fifty years later, I continue to think that that story still has so much to teach. “
But do you have a dream still in flight?
