If the profession of journalist is known to be little liked by the general public, that of real estate agent has nothing to envy of it. Ultra-sharp shoes, carnivorous smile, incredible glibness, plump fees… There is no shortage of clichés about this profession. “How to make yourself loved more» is also one of the questions that was asked during the congress of the National Real Estate Federation (Fnaim), on December 9 and 10, during a workshop on “the keys to the success of the best real estate agents”.
For Cédric Lavaud, administrator of Fnaim and general manager of the Sorec agency in Metz, a good real estate agent is first and foremost someone who “has network”. “I never do commercial prospecting, I don’t need it, people come to the agency because it’s us, mom and me, we are a local agency”adds her colleague Delphine Reneteau, head of the La Nive agency, in Bayonne. A “independent, family agency, created by mom”proudly states the one who has worked there for 20 years and who “does not use digital tools at all, preferring human contact”.

Who has not, moreover, “never had the feeling of working although everyone around me thinks I work too much”.
Another characteristic of a good real estate agent: “always arrive on time for your appointments”insists the general director of Sorec. Not like the doctors and their 30 to 45 minutes late but they did Bac plus 10 at least, it’s true… More unexpected, “a ‘top performer’ real estate agent does not smoke in front of his agency !tackle Cédric Lavaud. But a few streets further, so as not to give the agency a bad image.” You will also find a good real estate agent at the local bar, like the legendary Chai Ramina, rue de la Poissonnerie, in Bayonne, a three-minute walk from the La Nive agency: “that’s where I did my best business”smiles Delphine Reneteau.
