The charm of an old parquet is incomparable. But sometimes renovating it is not enough: when a blade is too damaged, it must be replaced. Here is the procedure to do it yourself.
Remove the defective blade
No, withdrawing a parquet blade, followed in these neighbors, is not a Chinese headache! The tip to do well: locate the joists, these wooden beams on which the floor blades are arranged and fixed. Start by piercing the blade between two joists with a drill or a crankshaft. The main thing is to create a sufficient diameter hole to be able, then, slide a saw blade there. From this hole, carefully saw the prosecutor’s blade damaged over its entire length, until they find, on both sides, the joists. Then cut the blade following the edges of these joists. All you have to do is remove the two pieces of the blade thus cut. If they resist, help yourself with a screwdriver to dislodge them.
Set up the new blade
This step is particularly delicate since it is difficult to find a wood of the same color and cut it exactly at the same size as the old one. Also make sure that the thickness of the new blade is not too far from the old so that once posed, it perfectly shares the original blades that surround it. Screw battles on the joists: it is on them that the new blade will rest. Shape or sauté the lower edge of the new blade. Present the bias blade and place it on the cleats. All you have to do is fix it by nailing it or sticking it.
Finish
To nail the new blade, opt for men’s head tips that you will put on thanks to a shot hunt. For an even more meticulous result, you can fill the holes with a wooden dough. For an impeccable finish, you can put a heavy piece of furniture on it, for 48 hours. Finally, sand and hold the new blade so that it merges as much as possible with the rest of the prosecution. Sit or varnish it to finish. We should only see fire!
