Clara Luciani, Frédérique Bel and Vanessa Paradis have all worn it over the years.

Some learned the news when they discovered the liquidation of its pieces at -80%. Others, less connected to the Internet, were simply not aware. Because if there are closures that cause a lot of noise in the French press, it will not have caused much ink to flow. Since the beginning of April, however, this fashion brand adored by Parisians has announced that it is closing its doors for good after 23 years of existence. An adventure that ends silently, in opposition to a stylistic aesthetic that nevertheless screams originality and extravagance.

It’s on the account Instagram of the brand that the founder spoke publicly, thanking her early customers and all the collaborators who allowed her to achieve her rank of excellence. “Even at the end of this chapter, our gratitude to you is eternal. Thank you for being part of this unique story and for being its heroines”explains Frédérique Trou-Roy to the camera, not without emotion.

Like me, fans of telecrochet and fashion will have discovered her for the first time on their screens 14 years earlier, on the set of the show The Voice. At the time, Ruby, a candidate in Louis Bertignac’s team, wore a candy pink dress, with an imposing tutu and gold sequin ornaments – an aesthetic that would establish the DNA of the house. It’s the brand MANOUSH which closes its fashion adventure, to the great dismay of its aficionados.

“Neither collective procedure, nor transfer” : as reported by our colleagues from Fashion Networkit is simply a deterioration in its turnover which caused its disappearance: the latter went from 5.5 million euros in the 2022-2023 financial year, to 2.4 million in 2024-2025.

Born in 2002, the bohemian chic brand drew on its founder’s travels, between the regions of Morocco, India, Africa and the Middle East more generally. Embroidery, sequin work and colorful patterns were an integral part of his stylistic vocabulary, helping to build an aesthetic that was recognizable among thousands.

Over the years, many French and international celebrities have integrated it into their wardrobe, helping to write its iconic story: Frédérique Bel, Clara Luciani, Katy Perry, Nolwenn Leroy, Paris Hilton and Vanessa Paradis. If the brand closes its doors today, the story is not over: its fun and ultra-vibrant universe will remain forever engraved in our minds.
