From Friday to Sunday, the Monza racetrack becomes the “capital” of women’s sport. On the table the themes of rights and gender equality: To discuss research, data, analysis, concrete shares and investments will be beyond 400 women, Italian delegated professionals for the National Council of Soroptimist, World organization on a voluntary basis of women engaged in professional and managerial activities, which promotes the progress of the female condition, the full realization of equal opportunities and human rights.
Guided by the National President Adriana Macchithe professionals will address two themes at the top of the political agenda: peace and female sport between representation and representation. The world president will be present at the event Siew Yong Gnanalingam.
Two appointments of the day of September 19th: the conference open to the public “Women & Sport. On the track for rights and equality” At 10.30 am at the National Autodrome (Viale Vedano 5 in Monza). President Macchi will summarize a two -year work on the theme of sport and women, the subject of targeted actions and multidisciplinary research of national level. Macchi will present two years of Women & Sport, The project that made it possible to carry out projects throughout Italy and led to the awarding of the prize – Call of competition XXVLE – Soroptimist International of Italy to the winner of the research “Women in Sports. Analysis and data for a photograph with a gender perspective”. The results of the winning research will be presented in Rome at the foreign press room on 9 October. After the opening of the works, the National Council will work on artificial intelligence, gender culture and IC (Istanbul convention).
“There is the question of the representation of women in the world of sport. In the places of power, the apical roles are covered in most of the times by men, in this way there is a balance of power management and decision -making between genres»Explains Adriana Macchi,” the numbers say it: on 50 Italian sports federations only two are guided by women. Female sport takes space, but not yet enough. Our work started two years ago and now we do a punctual analysis of the situation. Finally, President Macchi recalls the importance of the opening of the Council of Delegate of Soroptimist International on the issue of human rights, security and peace: «We have collected the invitation of the European Federation, to make our voices heard, to ensure that women are included in the decision -making processes concerning peace and security.
