There Roberto Bolle Foundation organized a show for the inmates of the Cesare Beccaria Juvenile Penal Institute thanks to the collaboration of the PuntoZero Association. In front of the audience packed with young prisoners, some young break dancing and classical dance talents performed, in particular the two dancers of the Teatro alla Scala Company, Rebecca Luca And Alessandro Francesconiwho performed excerpts from The Nutcrackerand of Grand Pas Classique And Roy Ilagou – dancer and choreographer originally from Central Africa – and his hip hop and afro dance crew.
Bolle himself introduced the show from the stage he spoke to the kids to introduce the artists and then made himself available for questions from the audience, urging young prisoners to remember to “nurture every day the beauty that is in all of us”.
At the end of the show, welcomed with great enthusiasm by the audience, the artists who performed talked about their journey made of sacrifice and passion, like that of Filippo Pieroni who, from the street, came to dance in the Cirque du Soleil Company as the first Italian break dancer.
«I really wanted this to be one of the Foundation’s first steps» Bolle said on the sidelines of the meeting «I have always supported the educational value of dance especially for young generationsthe. In this place, dance can not only be at home, but can be a valid tool for education and re-education about respect, beauty, inclusion, a discipline that teaches that shortcuts cannot give the same results as a commitment daily, a sacrifice for one’s personal growth. To all this I add that dance can also have great therapeutic value in healing the wounds that each of these kids carries with them».
