What is the Sports Pass?
Assistance from the ministry for the practice of sport among children and young adults
Amounting several tens of euros per eligible person, the Sports Pass is an aid which allows you to pay part of the cost or the entirety of registration or license to a club, sports association or gym. Implemented since 2021, it is also considered a back-to-school allowance, distinct from the back-to-school allowance (ARS).
A back-to-school allowance to encourage young people to play sports
The main objective of this system is to boost the economy of the sports sector while encouraging young people to engage in regular physical activity. Ultimately, this measure aims to reduce the risk of obesity and improve their health. It is also an aid to families for education and guaranteeing the accessibility of sport to all profiles of practitioners.
An extended check for the 2025/2026 season
The Pass’Sport is renewed for the season 2025/2026in accordance with Decree No. 2024-500 of May 31, 2024. This system specifies the eligibility criteria, the sports structures concerned as well as the terms of use. It thus makes it possible to continue to support the registration of young people in clubs, associations or sports halls throughout France.
How much does the Sport Pass cost for the 2025-2026 season?
The amount of the Sports Pass is set at 70 euros. This aid is paid by the State to reduce the cost of registration (license or contribution) in an eligible club, sports association or gym between September 1 and December 31, 2025. This amount constitutes an increase compared to the previous season, when it was 50 euros.
What are the conditions for obtaining the 2025/2026 Sport Pass?
Age requirement
The Sports pass is granted according to the age of eligible young people, as well as their respective profiles. Subject to further revision, here is a classification by age group, based on the granting of social subsidies:
Role of CAF
As public aid, the Sport pass (or Pass’Sport) is publicly fundedmore precisely by the Ministry of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Family Allowance Fund (CAF) plays a complementary role, particularly in terms of communication and dissemination of information to families.
CAF informs eligible households via personalized letters or notifications to encourage them to take advantage of this help. But also, it helps to identify the beneficiaries and gives this information to the Ministry of Sports.
Who else is eligible for the Sports Pass?
Students up to the age of 28
Concerning scholarship students (before October 15), they are eligible for the Sports pass, provided they are old under 28 years. A grant from the regional council as part of health and social training also allows you to qualify, as does annual aid from the CROUS.
No resource conditions
Unlike other aid, the Sport pass does not directly depend on household resources. This means that families, regardless of their income levelcan benefit from this system if they meet the other eligibility criteria. This absence of resource conditions aims to encourage sports practice for all young people.
However, it should be noted that eligibility is based on specific situations, such as receipt of certain allowances (ARS, AEEH, AAH, etc.).
When do we receive the Sport Pass in 2025/2026?
As a general rule, this is sent to month of August or September. If applicable, it is important to check your spam and junk mail, as well as the legitimacy of the email sender. For the 2025/2026 season:
- The shipments took place between August 26 and 28, 2025 for the majority of beneficiaries.
- Scholarship students receive their code between the end of October and the end of November.
How to obtain the Sports Pass?
No online request to make
In order to benefit from the Sport pass system, there is no specific action to take. Indeed, the Ministry of Sports sends an email to notify eligible familiesstudents, as well as young people with their own digital coordinates. It is based on information provided by CAF, MSA, or CROUS.
An exception : AEEH beneficiaries (six to 13 years old) must request their Sports pass directly on the dedicated site from September 1st.
Get your personal QR code in August
The email also includes a personal, single-use QR code. In the event of loss or non-receipt, it is possible to recover or reprint your QR code directly on the government’s new Pass’Sport Portal: Pass Sport Portal. The QR code remains valid only for the 2025/2026 season and can only be used once.
What should I do if I have not received my Sports pass?
Check your eligibility
In the event that you do not receive an email or code, you will need check your eligibility. As a reminder, this mainly concerns the age of the practitioner, as well as the granting of additional financial aid. If necessary, check the personal information provided to the competent administrative structures, such as the CROUS or the CAF.
For regional scholarship students
In this case, the Sport pass codes are sent by email from the end of October, once the lists of beneficiaries have been received from the organizations concerned. In the meantime, you can ask the club toapply a deduction against the delivery of a deposit check, which you will recover by presenting your Pass’Sport once received.

The Pass’Sport can be used in all approved clubs, associations or sports halls by the device. It is valid in more than 85,000 clubs and gyms. In order to locate a club, a hall or a sports association that is a partner of Sport Pass assistance, you can go to the dedicated website, which has an interactive map.

To simplify your selection, you can refine the results by choosing a sporting discipline specific. For example :

Get information from the structures, sports halls and sports associations in your city
You can also contact the educational cities near your home. Non-exhaustively, here are different structures for practicing physical activity with this aid:
- Sports-health centers listed with the Ministries of Health and Sports.
- Sports halls which offer equipment and services for sports leisure activities.
- Sports associations which may or may not have an affiliation with a federation, particularly in priority neighborhoods.
- Sports clubs which have an aggregation.
How to benefit from the Sports Pass reduction (50 or 70 euros)?
Show your QR code when registering
The use of the Sport pass is carried out at the time of registration in a sports club or other partner infrastructure of the system. It is also important to respect a validity period. When registering, show your QR code or provide the alphanumeric code. The club will apply a reduction of 70 euros on membership or license fees.
Validity period
The Sport Pass is valid for any registration or license taken between the 1ᵉʳ June and 31 December 2025. Beyond that, it is no longer possible to use it. Since the Sports Pass is given to one person, several children from the same family can benefit from it, but it is for single use.
Can the Sports pass be combined with other aid?
The Sports Pass is cumulative with other aid financial. Among these are the sports voucher and CAF sports aid. This also includes the systems put in place by local authorities. This accumulation makes it possible to considerably, if not completely, reduce the cost of registering for a sporting activity.
