In a Christmas that invites us to reflect on true values, the strength of those who build not only infrastructure, but culture, inclusion and the future emerges. With Terna, energy is not just electric: it is passion for people, attention to merit, diversity and social responsibility. Young people, women, employees with disabilities become protagonists of a project that focuses on the dignity and development of each person.
In the last two years the company has welcomed over 1,340 new talents, of which more than 380 are women; 60% have a degree and 40% come from STEM disciplines, with an average age under 35 for 70% of new hires. Today, more than half of the collaborators are under 41 years old and almost a third of managerial positions are occupied by women. Paths of recruiting inclusive and training on language and respect, aimed at thousands of employees, ensure opportunities guided by merit and fairness.

The well-being of people is an integral part of the company culture: increase in smart working for a maximum of ten days a month, with particular attention to parents, for whom it becomes twelve; two co-working locations in Rome to reduce home-work travel; reimbursements for public transport and agreements with electric mobility; contributions for nursery schools with reimbursements of 60% of the monthly fee and additional leave for new fathers; psychological support, wellness, nutrition and caregiving they are also offered to family members. The Employee Resource Group allow parent employees to propose initiatives to improve processes and services, with particular attention to returning to work after maternity leave.
In parallel, social responsibility translates into concrete projects: “Ternability”, dedicated to the inclusion of people with disabilitiesgoes beyond legal obligations by creating ideal conditions for participation and growth, breaking down stereotypes and offering new perspectives on the social value of work. This program, awarded with the HRC Best HR Team Award, acts on culture and awareness, recruiting, networks and alliances, internal and external communication, putting social innovation at the center.
All this is grafted onto a solid technical structure: more than 75 thousand kilometers of high and very high voltage lines, 915 electrical stations and 30 international interconnections, with the mission of guaranteeing stable energy and continuity for the country. But what really makes the difference is the attention to people: develop talents, promote balance between professional and private life, support young people and families, create real inclusion.
This Christmas, observing a company like this means recognizing that true energy is made of care, responsibility and respect. An energy that transmits culture and values, reminding us that progress is not only technological, but first and foremost human. Young people, women, people with disabilities: everyone contributes with their own uniqueness, making work a precious work of sharing – we could almost say of art – and building a more just and inclusive future for all.

«Sustainability refers to both the impact on the environment and on people. At Terna, organizational well-being is an integral part of our idea of professional and social growth”, he explains Giuseppina Di Foggia, CEO and general manager of Terna. «In recent years we have always defined our personnel policies on the basis of two guiding principles: respect and inclusion, which contribute to promoting a corporate culture increasingly oriented towards the recognition of individual merit and value».
