Terrorism returns to hit in Israel. On Monday morning, six people were killed and 11 others were injured in the attack made by two men aboard a bus of the 62 line at the height of the busy Ramot road hub, in the non -area of Jerusalem. Some of the injured are in critical conditions.
The two terrorists opened fire against passengers before being killed by an ultra orthodox soldier and an armed civilian.
“When we arrived, we saw people who have passed on the road, on the roadside and on the sidewalk near a bus stop. There was a lot of destruction, broken glass on the floor and a lot of confusion. We started to give rescue to the wounded and currently we are continuing to treat them and transport them to the hospital,” said one of the first rescuers.
According to sources of security, the terrorists who made the armed attack are Palestinians of the West Bank. It is believed that the two started from villages in the Ramallah area. Their identities are still the subject of investigation by the Israeli security authorities. Meanwhile, troops of the Israeli armed forces are surrounding several Palestinian villages on the outskirts of Ramallah. The Army states that troops have also been sent to search together with the police looking for potential accomplices in the area.
According to the Israeli political analyst Ori Goldberg, heard by To Jazeerait is likely that the attack was planned in the West Bank, without any involvement by Hamas.
Already in February in 2023 the terrorists had struck at Ramot Junction. On that occasion a car overwhelmed some people at a bus stop. Three Israelis died and four others were injured. The attacker was killed on the spot by a policeman.
Due to the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed the judges who will not participate in the hearing of the corruption process set for today. Later Netanyahu visited the place of the attack.
