I am 5 thousand young people linked to Salesian youth movement globally (MGS, Sym in the international acronym), coming from 33 countries (Argentina, Austria, Belarus, Canada, Congo, Costa Rica, Croatia, Egypt, Filipine, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Italy, Kenya, Morocco, Mexico, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, United States, Taiwan, Tanzania, Türkiye, Hungary, Uruguay, Venezuela), arrived AA Rome to live the Jubilee of young people and share the values inspired by the charisma of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello Within some occasions of animation and spirituality proposed by the Salesian family with the invitation to be “pilgrims of hope”.
The events organized by the MGS on the sidelines of the Jubilee of young people will be centered on “Roman Pole”, articulated in the Don Bosco, Pius XI and Borgo Borgo Bagno Don Bosco, also supported by state schools in the area.
“The proposals of spirituality and animation – explain the organizers – were born in tune with the program of the Jubilee of young people, within the path of the universal Church, where the Salesian charisma expresses itself with enthusiasm and creativity”.
I am 100 Volunteers at the service of events and proposals for spirituality of the Sym Jubileefrom all over Italy and belonging to the Salesian youth movement and the Association of the Salesians Cooperators.
Among the most lively symbolic moments there will be the Sym Connectorganized on the afternoon of July 29 in the square in front of the Basilica of San Giovanni Bosco: young people from all over the world will be able to exchange objects and symbols representative of their cultures and visit the stands of Salesian for the Social, Vides, Caritas Roma, Sym Europe, youth pastoral of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
Absolute novelty within the various events proposed by the MGS will be the group of “Ai Angels Social Team”, a team of young volunteers officially born on January 24, on the feast of San Francesco di Sales, patron of journalists, who will deal with the Digital reporting supported and integrated by artificial intelligence And they will be present at the Jubilee of the digital missionaries and Catholic influancers of 28 and 29 July.
“The Angels are volunteers who, moved by a spirit of service and passion for technology, put their skills regarding artificial intelligence (IA) at the service of pastoral care and evangelization paths”, reads the Aiangels.eu site which describes this new digital animator figure who can support the ordinary activity of parishes and associations.
The idea was born within the team of Cube radiothe issuer of the Salesian University Institute of Venice (IUSVE) which, on the sidelines of a series of technical experiments on applications that use the IA, has chosen to share their skills gained in support of those who want to put themselves at the service of the communities in the area.
«It is not a question of identifying experts in charge of teaching others – we always read on the site aiangels.eu – but to give birth within the individual communities small teams of volunteers who can enrich themselves through mutual experiences and put themselves at the service of the pastoral actions already in place. The community style within which this service should arise can guarantee a greater comparison between the components of the group, a continuity over time, an enhanced creativity and discourage the excessive protagonist of the individual».
Returning to the program for the Jubilee of young people, the central moment will be the Sym Jubilee Festival, scheduled for the evening of July 30: from 6 pm, the square in front of the Basilica of San Giovanni Bosco will become the stage for artistic, musical and theatrical performances by the youth groups from the various territories in which the MGS is present.
The evening will culminate with the Eucharistic vigil animated by Don Rafael Bejarano, General councilor for the youth pastoral of the Salesians of Don Bosco, followed by the traditional “goodnight” of the Rector Maggiore of the Salesians, Don Fabio Attard, and of the mother general of the daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Sister Chiara Cazzuola.
The Salesian youth movement (MGS) is an educational reality open to all young people who live, even in different ways, the experience of the spirituality and charisma of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello. It is not a formal association, but a community of young people belonging to Salesian or related groups and environments, which share an educational style based on the preventive system. The heart of the MGS are the animators, young people who live the Salesian proposal in a conscious and testimonial way, welcoming and accompanying their peers on a human and Christian journey.
Founded on Salesian youth spiritualitythe movement promotes a Christian life lived in everyday life, in joy, in the personal relationship with Jesus, in the service and in communion. Present in over 130 countries around the world and articulated on several levels (local, regional, territorial, national, European and world), the MGS unites Oratori, schools, youth centers and association groups, By promoting youth protagonism, vocational discernment and ecclesial and social commitment.
