Far from being supplanted by other Make-Up trends, the art of contouring, or the mastery of games of shadow and light to always appear in its best aspect, is always at the top of professional techniques. Relatively little easy to put into practice at home, contouring has however come out of the hands of make-up artists to adapt to the general public. The major make -up brands like Mac, Gemey, Sephora, have swept away the many tools and accessories essential for its realization to develop their own contouring kit.
The principle of the contouring palette is therefore to present a gradient of several shades (at least two) from the clearest to the darkest. Thus, the light colors will hang the light by accentuating cheekbones and T zone (eyebrows, nose). The dark colors, by creating shadows, will allow the oval of a face to be refined. There are also dedicated kits with eyes composed of a base, a shadow of outline and a cream to illuminate the look.
The most experienced to the art of contouring will be able to compose their palette themselves, by testing the shades preferably at the level of the maxillary so that they best agree with their natural complexion and can choose the texture: free, compact powder, fluid, creamy foundations, etc … beginners will prefer the pallets made up of several shades (4 to 6) in order to determine the nearest shades. Carnation to avoid the plaster effect.
Do not forget also to opt for good application accessories: round brushes in natural hairs for powder; Synthetic hairs or sponges for foundations.
