An avant -garde school model, where Christian inspiration and humanistic culture come together with technology with the aim of transmitting skills to children to keep up with the times of technological progress and artificial intelligence. An innovative training process, focused on the development of a preparation suitable for the entry of the work world. The curtain was raised on the new technical institute “Carlo Acutis, inaugurated this afternoon in via Carlo Amoretti 78, in Quarto Oggiaro Popolare di Milano. At the presentation of the newly formed school – which bears the name of Carlo Acutis, the young man who died in 2006 for a fulminating leukemia, canonized on Sunday in Rome by Pope Leo XIV and known as the” patron of the Internet ” – the Minister of Education and the Merit. Monsignor Giuseppe Vegezzi, Episcopal Vicar of Milan.
«Congratulations to those who thought this project. Here I saw ultra -modern machinery and bright spaces that give me serenity. That same serenity that I hope have all the teachers and students of the school. This is a nice school model, on which to build the working future of young people. Companies need professionalism that forms in institutes like these, “said Valditara. He then continued, in the memory of Acutis: «Carlo since yesterday is a saint, but he has always been a positive example for young people. His life represented what we all have to understand about the meaning of the good with the capital “B”. It is necessary to rediscover the strength and beauty of the good, overcoming the polluting cancer of relativism. We report charity, more authentic form of love, at the center of our life. Carlo had a charity that knew how to manifest himself also in the use of technological tools, often seen negatively but in reality fundamental if promoted with intelligence. As he also said, I invite young people to be original. And above all you never become slaves to social media ».
Even Monsignor Vegezzi turned to the school boys, with a heartfelt invitation: «Carlo Acutis lived his adolescence in the best possible but at the same extremely normal way. All of you guys can make small things big. Don’t be satisfied with the minimum, make your life a masterpiece of knowledge and charity ». The school year will begin on Friday morning in the presence of 38 students. There will be two training addresses of the Institute, which will be led by the principal Nicola Terenzi. On the one hand, the IT address based above all on the teaching of a conscious use of the AI. On the other, a path of studies oriented to the world of graphics and communication, with approaches also linked to design. The timetable will develop on five days and the lessons (of eight 50 -minute modules) will last until 4 pm. In September and in June, the number of school days will also increase to give space to recovery and deepening activities. The teaching provides for a strong practical characterization: even traditional subjects, such as Italian, mathematics and philosophy, will be taught with experiential, laboratory and precisely technological approaches. A further aspect of novelty is that linked to the aforementioned will to build a solid relationship between the boys of the Institute and the partner companies, which have contributed to the birth of this school. Specific teaching modules and a conspicuous number of hours of PCto will be carried out between class (construction of project work) and company (internship periods). All with the aim of helping students to get better in the world of work and to be successful.
«We want to create relationships and ideas. We want our kids to become autonomous and develop a critical thinking. All by reconciling at best spaces of work, times and teaching. We must support students in a continuous process of life orientation, “explained the principal Terenzi. To which Mario Salerno, president of Edutecne echoed: “Ours is a Christian educational proposal designed to live up to the technological challenges that await students. For our part there will be a maximum commitment to ensure that this school is truly equal, as sanctioned by the Constitution. Our young people will be pioneers ».
