A moment of the award ceremony

The journalistic prize dedicated to Giuseppe Zilli, in memory of the priest Paolino, historical director of Christian familydied in 1980 and originally from Fano Adriano (Teramo).

Right in the small Abruzzo town, located almost mystically at the foot of the Gran Sasso massif, The award ceremony took place on Saturday 5 Julyconducted by Germana D’Orazio and Lucio Caracciolodirector of LIMES and president of the jury of the prize (which includes, among others, also the director of Christian family Don Stefano Stimamiglio).

Five prize -winning journalists, well -known and lesser known but all extremely competent faces in their sector. For paper journalism it was awarded Luciano Fontana, Director of Corriere della Sera. The presentation of Fontana has been superfluous, for over 10 years director of the most popular newspaper in Italy, which has reiterated the relevance of the figure of Zilli and Catholic journalism in our country, as an authoritative voice still today and contribution of the public debate.

For the television one, the Rai correspondent was awarded the Zilli Prize Roberto Chinzari, that we often see in connection directly from Palazzo Chigi, who told some anecdote linked to his profession. The environmentalist received the recognition for the web journalism Letizia Palmisanowho explained how, almost by chance, he met his journalistic vocation as a young man, starting from his passion for the environment. Today he is one of the most accredited information professionals in his field.

For the radio one, he received the prize Isabella Piro Of Vatican radio, head that, for the record, was founded in 1931, just like Christian family.

Finally, the journalistic career award was awarded to Corrado Augias, Which remotely explained how news must always be contextualized, which social media omit to do, greatly increasing the risk of disinformation and, therefore, the democratic estate. His conclusion is that, contrary to what the person proposes for the total disintermediation of information, the journalistic profession is now very indispensable.

Gratitude goes to those who have been lavishing for several years to organize the prize, also designed to put the problem of abandonment of the so -called “high lands” to the attention of the community, dotted with countries such as Fano Adriano, increasingly older as a media of age and destined, if the problem is not arising at the center of politics, to be abandoned over time. The grateful thought therefore goes to the mayor of Fano Adriano, Luigi Serviand Stefano Pallottapresident of the Order of Journalists of Abruzzo and today National Councilor of the Order.
