This back-to-school season, bosses feel like they’ve been on even more of a vacation than usual. Firstly, because on the economic or geopolitical fronts, the situation has not deteriorated significantly overall. Tensions have certainly risen in Israel and Ukraine and remain very worrying, but while the stock market coughed in August, the financial markets have since regained some strength and, in the United States, the victory that seemed certain for a very protectionist and “America First” Donald Trump is no longer totally assured.
Consumption held up, the Olympic Games went well, inflation and Covid are now just bad memories… Not everything is going well but everything is no longer going worse and worse, which is progress.
