The amusement park in western Paris is getting a makeover with two new attractions and a renovated paddling pool for little ones.
With its botanical space spread over 18 hectares, its zoo which welcomes 450 animals and birds, its 42 attractions for young and old and its catering points, the Jardin d’Acclimatation attracts more and more families. Located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris and considered the oldest amusement park in France, This park created in 1860 has been attracting young and old alike for generations. This year, the Jardin d’Acclimatation is getting a makeover and promises lots of new features:
Two new pirate-themed attractions
From April 30, two new attractions will enrich the park’s offering. The first, Le Fort des Pirates, is a family-coaster designed for the whole family: its tight turns, sudden accelerations and surprise effects plunge visitors into a thrilling mission to conquer an impregnable fort. The second, Le Bateau des Corsaires, is aimed at thrill-seekers. The youngest are not forgotten since the Grande Pataugeoire, after several months of renovation, will reopen its doors at the beginning of June 2026 under the name of Pataugeoire des Moussaillons with nearly 500 water jets to have fun and cool off freely, all in an exotic setting decorated with palm trees and shaded deckchairs where parents can relax. To complete this adventure, visitors will be able to eat at the Barberousse Tavern, find souvenirs at the Treasure Chest and even immortalize their visit with a photo booth which will transform them into real buccaneers. An essential stopover for a family outing in Paris on sunny days!
The attractions of the Jardin d’Acclimatation
Enchanted River, Flying Chairs, Ferris Wheel, Little Train, Distorting Mirrors, Large Aviary, roller coaster, Guignol Theater, Educational Farm and Carousels gathered on 18 hectares of meadows make the success of the Jardin d’Acclimatation which is constantly renewing itself. There is something for all ages and tastes. This year, the Jardin d’Acclimatation is diversifying in particular with a new carousel designed by Louis Vuitton and decorated with fantastic animals. And that’s not all: a new attraction was inaugurated on March 22 and will be open to the public on April 12, 2025.
The Dragon Challenge, the roller coaster of the Jardin d’Acclimatation
Le Défi du Dragon is the 4th roller coaster from the Jardin d’Acclimatation after La Machine à Vapeur, Les Souris Mécaniques and Les Speed Rockets. Attention thrill-seekers! This new attraction propels visitors at full speed into a sumptuous setting from Asia. After traveling through a small Chinese fishing village, take a seat aboard a dragon which takes off with a bang, at 50 km/hour and 12 meters in the air. The train is then catapulted out of the station before entering sharp turns brushing the river and the ground. An attraction to try with the family, which represents an investment of 12 million euros.
The Jardin d’Acclimatation zoo: what animals are there?
In the Jardin d’Acclimatation farm, children have the chance to discover rabbits, guinea pigs, Rove goats, Ouessant sheep, donkeys, a henhouse and an apiary, to learn all the secrets of beekeeping. They can even feed pets. For bird fans, five aviaries organized according to different biogeographic zones transport visitors around the world, where more than 40 species are represented. Finally, a vegetable garden allows children to discover the virtues of vegetables, and to learn how plants grow. These activities, surrounded by nature, are ideal for a memorable and educational family outing.
