Another woman victim of femicide: this time the one violently attacking her body is a boy, her 17-year-old nephew who stabbed her to death last Thursday and threw her body into the river that flows near her home, transporting it in a wheelbarrow covered with a cloth. It happened in San Stino di Livenza (Venice). The young man will turn 18 in a couple of months and is an Italian citizen, originally from San Stino di Livenza. Once the investigations began, the Carabinieri’s suspicions soon focused on him. The young man, who showed signs of abrasions on his hands, confessed during the night when cornered by magistrate Carmelo Barbaro of the Pordenone Prosecutor’s Office who is investigating the case. The public prosecutor then forwarded the case to the Trieste Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office. The carabinieri and the medical examiner Antonello Cirnelli are on site for the investigations.

The motive for the murder would be linked to serious family disagreements, due to an alleged inheritance that was pitting the victim, 53 years old, unmarried and without children, a literature teacher at a lower secondary school, and her brother, i.e. the boy’s father. The body, however, despite the searches being started yesterday evening, has not yet been found. The firefighters of the local detachment are working on the case and since this morning the divers from the specialized department of Venice have joined in reinforcement.
The moving message from the victim’s students
The teacher had followed her students for three years of middle school, who are now taking their licensing exams. Some of them reached the teacher’s house with other teachers and left flowers and a sign on the gate where it says: «We will try to do a good exam so that you can always be proud of us. He will always remain in our hearts.”
