On the stage of the Suzuki Stage, on the final evening of Sanremo, Pooh find themselves side by side once again. It’s yet another chapter of a story that began in 1966 and which today is looking straight ahead to an important goal: sixty years of music and shared life. Because Dodi Battaglia, Red Canzian, Roby Facchinetti and Riccardo Fogli, even before being bandmates, are true friends: those who may even move away, but then always come back to sing together.
«Our 60-year career was also important thanks to Sanremo», they said a few hours after the performance. «In 1990 we won with Solo Men and when we learned in our room that we had won with happiness, we jumped on the bed and broke it; in 2016 we celebrated 50 years with Carlo Conti and then we had a reunion with Amadeus.”
From Sanremo the band will leave for a long tour until December 31st, with live concerts, including three at the Verona Arena with the symphony orchestra conducted by Diego Basso. «After the sports arenas we will go to Canada and the United States».
Since yesterday the Pooh collection has been available, our history, the definitive compilation with 75 songs of the 400 recorded.
And there are four tributes made by four other groups. «All the bands that started with us, except Nomadi, disappeared, but many other bands were born in our wake. In our profession we don’t always hear the word “respect” and instead Negramaro, Le Vibrazioni, Modà and Finley paid this homage out of respect for us.”
Here’s what Pooh told us in an interview they gave us in 2024 on the occasion of the Friends Forever tour.
