Sometimes it doesn’t take much to get a nice reduction on your energy bill. This small accessory, at less than 50 euros, is used to better distribute the heat in your home without spending more money.

There are many things that weigh on our budget and in winter, energy expenditure is very significant. In addition to the electronic devices that we use all year round, when it’s cold, we add heating. And depending on where you live, you turn it on sooner or later. On the Engie website, we discover that a Parisian consumes 6% more electricity than a Marseillais: 2024 kWh/year for a resident of Paris compared to 1913 for those in the South. Quite a difference! And this is not trivial, because heating is a big household expense. It can even double the amount of bills in the winter months. So tips for reducing your bill are welcome. Certain parameters cause prices to inflate or decrease.

The insulation of a home, its size and the number of rooms affect the final amount. “A well-insulated apartment of 80 m² will be less expensive in heating electricity than a house of 120 m², dating from the 70s and located in the countryside, even if the number of inhabitants is equivalent”we can read on the Engie website. There are some tricks to use less heating, such as blocking drafts, ventilating every day to reduce the humidity which accentuates the feeling of cold, dusting your radiators and closing the shutters at night to improve the insulation of the windows.

But be careful, there are more effective ways. This involves adding a small accessory that requires no work, no tools and no installation changes. It only takes a few minutes to set it up. “This system transforms a classic radiator into an intelligent diffuser with a faster rise in temperature, increased comfort and up to 22% energy savings”we can read on the brand’s website. And good news, it only costs 50 euros and is easily found on the Internet or in DIY stores such as Leroy Merlin. This super invention is SpeedComfort.

It comes in the form of a discreet white bar with three small fans. This Irish innovation mixes the air and diffuses heat evenly throughout the room and more quickly. This way, it is not necessary to raise the thermostat too much. Fully automatic, the device detects the moment when the radiator reaches 33°C to switch on.

These fans are silent. For the moment, it is only recommended on hot water radiators which are most common in homes.
