The taxpayers are finally fixed on the taxation of their revenues of 2024. MPs and senators gathered in a joint joint committee (CMP) have reached an agreement on the finance bill (PLF) for 2025 this Friday, January 31. Among the many measures contained in the 2025 budget, several relate to real estate (PTZ, Maprimerénov ‘…), but one was more particularly expected: the revaluation of the income tax scale. Each year, in fact, the entry thresholds in the five marginal tax slices (TMIfrom 0% to 45%) is increased up to inflation excluding tobacco observed over the past financial year to take into account the price increase.
And if the version of the budget for 2025 adopted by the Senate provided for a revaluation of the 2%income tax scale, it is inflation excluding tobacco of 2024, or 1.8%, which was retained by the 14 members of the CMPthis Friday. Which confirmed the president of the finance committee of the National Assembly Eric Coquerel (LFI) to Capital. Here is the new scale of income tax 2025:
- 0% between 0 and 11,497 euros
- 11% from 11,497 to 29,315 euros
- 30% from 29,315 to 83,823 euros
- 41% from 83,823 to 180,294 euros
- 45% above 180,294 euros

A scale applied to your 2024 income
Note that these tax slices apply to Your income received in 2024the scale usually voted at the end of the year as part of the budget review that applies retroactively to income for the past year. It is therefore this scale that will be attended during the next income declaration made in the spring of 2025, this formality also relating to your income affected in 2024.
Main consequence: if your income has not increased between 2023 and 2024, your income tax will decrease. For example, if you are single and your income reached 35,000 euros in 2023, your tax regularized in 2024 was 2,736 euros. With identical income in 2024, your tax will be limited to 2,615.48 euros this year. With 50,000 euros in income in 2023 and 2024, still for a single, the tax also fell from one year to the next, going from 6,786 euros to 6,665.48 euros.
