Twelve thousand girls and boys involved in 30 projects throughout Italy, with direct financing of over 3 million euros. Six regions achieved. Urban and social regeneration projects, promoting the places of aggregation and innovative civic education.
These are, in summary, the data of the Social Budget 2024 of the EOS Foundationthe Foundation of Edison born in 2021 and engaged in social initiatives in the territories in which the company operates.
The financial statements, presented Tuesday in Milan at the Foro Buonaparte headquarters, was an opportunity for a meeting with the psychologist and psychotherapist Matteo Lancini, president of the MinoTauro Foundation, which dialogue with Francesca Magliulodirector of the EOS Foundation, on various themes: the relationship between young people and adults, the educational emergency, the role of the school, the search for meaning of the younger generations.
“Just three years ago we left by asking us how we could do more for the community and from that question an action plan that brought us near thousands of teenagers developed,” explained Francesca Magliulo, “”A path from which we learned many things: the systemic alliance with associations, the open dialogue with the institutions, the flexible approach with the communities. But above all we understood that a world can not be created for teenagers without adopting their gaze. To trigger the change, it is necessary to change the point of view. And we chose that of the boys and girls we met, which we listened to, welcoming their instances and taking care of their thoughts. Giving them confidence. And from here the revolution started».
The activities were born and then implemented thanks to the solid network built in these first three years and made of people, associations, third sector entities and partners as shown by the numbers: 4,000 members of the educating communities (family members, teachers, educators) and over 500 operators engaged in projects, more than 1,000 Edison colleagues involved.
“Three years ago it seemed indispensable to us to systematize our commitment in the territories in which we operate, in an even more structured way than we already did,” he explained Nicola Monti, President of the EOS Foundation, “the Foundation is in fact the natural evolution of Edison’s Sustainability and CSR division and, from 2021 to today, has shown how essential its contribution to our work is. The results obtained make us proud and above all already project us into a new phase of the Foundation, committed to making its impact that lasting and replicable, sharing the benefits with all the actors in the area “.

The intervention of EOS has divided into different design strands: that of urban and social regeneration, in which it stands out “Urban trajectories”, Three -year articulated project along six neighborhoods of Palermo, with the aim of transforming it into a more teenage city, richer in opportunities for social growth and participation. Or also, the “Criscito” project In Naples, designed to create a social infrastructure within the popular village of Sant’Antonio Abate, based on services and spaces for proximity to the service of the community and to give new opportunities to children and teenagers in the neighborhood. The other vein is “Play Your Way”, With projects aimed at the construction of sports community that are spaces of growth and comparison to promote and protect the rights of girls and boys in sport.
To ensure the protection and well -being of minors involved in the activities, EOS Foundation has equipped itself with a Policy of Child Safeguarding, an essential management document, but above all of the culture of attention to minors, which strengthens the Foundation’s commitment in the prevention of any form of abuse, exploitation, violence or negligence towards children and adolescents.
Another project is Cultural reflections, With which Foundation EOS promotes cinema, music, reading and performative arts as contexts of education, aggregation and protagonism of teenagers, starting from the partnership with the audiovisual pole to the former Tabacchi manufacture of Milan and, finally, the projects “Innovative civic education” and “step by step”.
For the next three years, EOS “intends to consolidate the traced model by enhancing the Legacy, replicability and sustainability in the long run of projects, in order to activate concrete and lasting changes in the communities”, explains the company in a note.
Among the concrete projects to the study, the establishment of social impact energy communities In the territories and with the partners involved in the EOS Foundation projects, a tangible inheritance with long -term effects and the creation of a social company under 30, aimed at managing services for the creative and tourist industry, with the aim of enhancing the territorial heritage and replicating some of the most effective design experiences.
From a financial point of view, the 2024 financial statements ended with a substantial balance between the donations collected by the Foundation and the liberal disbursements made. The donations collected amount to 1.6 million euros, of which 92% are to be traced back to Edison, while the remaining share of other liberal donations.
