Tuesday 11 November, at 9pm, the Santa Maria Incoronata Church in Milan (Corso Garibaldi 116) will host an important and interesting meeting entitled “The touch of compassion as the first medicine”. The evening, organized by OFTAL (Opera Federativa Trasporto Immalati a Lourdes) and Croce Bianca Milano, will be a moment of in-depth study dedicated to the new Apostolic Exhortation of Leo Dilexi Te. He will be an exceptional speaker Monsignor Erminio De ScalziAuxiliary Bishop Emeritus of Milan.
The event will be introduced Monsignor Claudio Carboniarchiepiscopal delegate OFTAL Milan and general assistant Croce Bianca – Milan. The event, a Free admissionaims to unite faith, service and humanity, as underlined in a note by Monsignor Carboni, who highlighted the strong connection of the evening with the feast of San Martinocelebrated on the same day: «The evening of 11 November, the day on which the Church celebrates Saint Martin of Tours, is intended to be not only an opportunity for spiritual deepening, but also an invitation to rediscover the value of compassion as a concrete gesture of charity and faith. Saint Martin, in his simple and radical gesture of sharing his cloak with a poor person, reminds us that every act of attention towards those who suffer is a real encounter with Christ. The spirit that animates OFTAL and Croce Bianca Milano arises from this same evangelical intuition: recognizing the living presence of the Lord in the sick, the fragile and the needy. In a society often marked by indifference, we want this evening to become a sign of hope: a moment in which faith, service and humanity come together to give voice to those who suffer and to renew in each one the awareness that to love is to touch another with respect, with mercy, with an open heart.”
The invitation is addressed to all citizens to reflect together on the profound meaning of service and care.
