AND Matteo Trullu, 13 years old, from Decimomannu (Cagliari), the winner of the 2026 edition of The Voice Kids. The young Sardinian talent, of the team led by Nek, he conquered the audience and coaches with energy, personality and a surprising stage presence for his age. To seal the triumph, the performance to the tune of “Maniac” by Michael Sembello, his workhorse, embellished by the guitar played live.
For Matteo, who attends eighth grade and has cultivated a passion for music since he was a child, it is a dream come true. His career in Rai talent has been marked by constant growth, commitment and the ability to range between different genres, demonstrating artistic maturity and authenticity. With him, the editions of the program dedicated to young voices rise to four: his name is added to the roll of honor alongside Melissa Agliottone, winner of the first edition, Simone Grande, winner of the second, and Melissa Memeti, who won the third.
Who is Matteo
Matteo has stood out since the Blind Auditions with a bold performance of “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, immediately demonstrating intonation, confidence and impeccable pronunciation in English. His performance immediately convinced coach Nek, in whose team he continued his entire talent journey.
His victory was sealed by a moment of strong empathy with his coach: Nek, visibly moved, knelt on the stage to embrace Matteo when the result was announced, symbol of a special relationship built over the course of the program. After the triumph, Matteo spoke of a “great personal revenge” against those who had discouraged him in the past: «There were people who told me that I could never do anything with music». A final full of emotions
The final evening, broadcast on Saturday 14 February, was a true celebration of music and emerging talents. To open the show, surprisingly, Naomi, who duetted with the 16 finalists in a medley of his hits, from “Sono solo parole” to “I don’t need you”. The Roman singer then performed together with Rocco Hunt to the tune of “Oh ma”, the hit that saw them as protagonists last summer.
Leading the evening, as always, Antonella Clerici, flanked for the occasion by three young valets – Alessio, Niccolò and Andrea – already seen at this edition’s Blind Auditions.
After the choral performance with Noemi, the competition got underway. It was the ice breaker Francesca Lanza, 12 years of Caltagirone, of the Arisa team, with “Ti I feel”, welcomed by a standing ovation. Then it was the turn of Francesco Ambrosi, 12 years of Fiuggi, of the team led by Clementino and Rocco Hunt, who interpreted “The masterpiece” of Il Volo.
They took turns on stage Briana Samira Camara (team Loredana Bertè) with “The Way You Make Me Feel”, Giovanni Frassi (team Nek) with “Twenty years”, Emma Baggetta (team Bertè) with “I Say a Little Prayer”, and again Maya Verga with “Città Empty”, Maria Rosaria Rondina with “If it rained your name”, Andrea Ronga with “Changes”, Ginevra Sergio with “La rondine”, Raffaello Digilio with “Swallows on a Leash”, Miriam Bruno with “Basket Case”, Fabiana Andreone with “In the absence of you”.
Among the most overwhelming performances was that of Matteo Trullu himself who, before the final verdict, had set the stage on fire with “Somebody to Love”, playing the guitar and demonstrating grit and stage mastery. To complete the shortlist of finalists Leonardo Zambelli with “The best years of our life”, Annagiulia Fusco with “I’m Not the Only One” and Riccardo Pezzicoli with “Pazza musica”.
An intense final, made up of tears, hugs and encouragement between coaches and kids, which focused not only on the competition but above all on the educational value of talent cultivated with dedication.
