Especially in the Middle East where the Israeli and American bombings on Iran have expanded the war. The Iranians suffer from it and the regime is inducing (also against Afghan refugees). Trump claims to postpone the decision whether to bomb or not, but then – surprisingly – strikes the Iranian sites. An AIEA report, the atomic energy agency, had declared that Iran was close to the objective of the manufacture of the atomic. Three days later, its general manager reduced the alarm. There is a difference! Of course, the Iranians are unreliable. Israelis, Arabs, European and American are absolutely against that Tehran enters the nuclear club. In the game of mirrors, Putin appears, an attacker in Ukraine, who proposes himself as a mediator between Israel and Iran. But Russia also wants a nuclear Iran.
Meanwhile, the hammering bombings in Ukraine continue, a country destroyed with millions of refugees abroad and you do not see the way out. Peace, that Trump had said to get early, despite the reiterated friendship with Putin, gets far away. Europe is armed by insisting on Putin’s threat, “with the risk”, writes Massimo Nava, “of the most classic self -evident prophecies”. The armed forces of a Germany, which invests so much on the conventional army (and wants it first in Europe), declare that Russia is an “existential danger” for Berlin.
Gaza pays a serious tax of blood and pain to Israeli actions every day, while Hamas’ kidnapped people remain in the hands of the terrorist organization. For the Palestinians there is no solution for the future, despite the Europeans reiterate that of two states and two peoples, difficult to create, but unique. Sudan is a tragedy. In the distant Myanmar for four years there is a civil war and more than half of the territory is in the hands of ethnic militias. The logic of war is spread as the only way to establish itself.
A tide of refugees. In 2024, 123 million (7 percent more than 2023): 73.5 million within their country and 42.7 abroad, especially in neighboring countries. The conflicts in Sudan, Ukraine and Myanmar are at the origin of the main flows. From Gaza very few Palestinians come out, as can be seen from the difficulty of evacuating some humanitarian cases. Since 2015 the displaced people have almost doubled, but the funds for them are almost the same. The greatest humanitarian crisis of the last decade, Syria (6 million and more than refugees abroad), has finished and 500 thousand Syrians returned. The Syrian conflict lasted from 2011 to 2024: will it have to wait so much for other countries? The international framework is deteriorated with the discredit of diplomacy, the humiliation of the UN and the provision of international law. The war tramples the foundations of the international community. Everything is possible: if Trump wants Greenland because China should not recover Taiwan? It is the winter of reason. Peace is today the true need of peoples. On it you must focus urgently. And resume treating everywhere!
