Many celebrities have lost their homes in recent days due to the terrible fires that have just broken out in Los Angeles. What do we know about the properties of Leonardo Dicaprio, Paris Hilton, Anthony Hopkins, Patrick Bruel and Laeticia Hallyday?
An atmosphere of apocalypse has reigned in Los Angeles since fires ravaged some wealthy neighborhoods, such as Pacific Palisades, where many celebrities own homes. The fires broke out on January 7, fanned by extremely violent winds, and have so far caused five deaths, numerous injuries and massive material losses. Actor Anthony Hopkins lost his house worth six million dollars…
Anthony Hopkins, Paris Hilton, Leonardo DiCaprio: their Los Angeles homes ravaged by flames
The 87-year-old actor bought his property, consisting of four bedrooms and five bathrooms, in 2021. Now, there is nothing left of this luxurious house, ravaged by the flames. In 2000, the actor saw another of his properties go up in smoke, this time in London.
The list of celebrities whose homes have burned down in recent days is unfortunately long. One of Paris Hilton’s properties, a Malibu beach villa, was lost in the fire. “I’m heartbroken (…) Watching the news with your family and seeing your house burned to the ground is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone.” she said on Instagram.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s former Malibu home, which he sold in 2021 for more than $10 million, was also burned. Many other stars, such as the actress Gossip Girl Leighton Meester and her husband Adam Brody, actress Anna Farris, director Billy Crystal, and even the star of Dirty Dancing Jennifer Grey, lost their homes in the flames.
Patrick Bruel, Laeticia Hallyday: what about the fate of their California properties? “We lost everything”
Some still do not have precise information on the fate of their property, but had to flee as a precaution, like the actress Mandy Moore, who was able to evacuate her neighborhood with her husband, the musician Taylor Goldsmith and their three children in young age. The novelist Amanda Sthers, who lives in Los Angeles, is currently in Paris and has no news of her property in California, just like her ex-husband Patrick Bruel who also has a house there. Their children, Oscar and Léon, are however safe.
“We have no news from their dad’s house, which is in Pacific Palisades and which seems to have disappeared in the flames (…) Mine is on the other side, in Hollywood. I thought we were far away and then there was a fire that broke out last night. They evacuated the area too“, she confided on Telematin this January 9.
As for Laeticia Hallyday, she also owned a house in the Pacific Palisades district, currently engulfed in flames, which she bought in 2021 after selling the one where she resided for years with Johnny. “We lost everything… There’s nothing left. I saw our house go to ashes, helpless in the face of the flames which took everything away (…) The sorrow is endless” she said on Instagram.
