In winter, the scales often tend to tip to the wrong side. Good news, a very short workout that can be done at home promises to strongly stimulate calorie expenditure.

When temperatures drop, our body naturally goes into “economy” mode and has the annoying habit of storing more. We move less, cocooning takes precedence over cardio, and physical activity often comes second to fatigue. Result: the slimming balance is disrupted and the small kilos creep in sneakily. To counter this winter weight gain and restart the machine, the challenge is not to exhaust yourself in endless sessions, but to focus on peaks of intensity capable of boosting the metabolism and triggering the release of fat, even in record time.

Ten-minute formats are precisely your best slimming allies. They fit incognito into your schedule, but remain intense enough to provoke a formidable physiological response on the silhouette. The objective is clear: to increase the heart rate soaring to engage the large muscle groups and maximize overall caloric expenditure. This is the ideal method for getting leaner without equipment or a gym membership.

This “fat-burning” ritual is made up of three identical series, designed to maintain an intensity conducive to fat loss while allowing the body short recovery periods. The exercise therefore lasts ten minutes, during which your body undergoes several increases in intensity. This type of split pushes the body to draw directly from its reserves and prolongs the burning of calories well after the session (the afterburn effect), an essential phenomenon when you are looking to lose weight quickly or stabilize your figure.

The program to lighten up? Each set begins with 60 seconds of climbing stairs at a brisk pace, a great way to sculpt your glutes and tone your legs. After a 30-second “detox” break, we continue with 45 seconds of imaginary jump rope. This rebound movement is magical for draining tissues, strengthening the abdominal area and refining the silhouette. Finally, a new recovery of 30 seconds closes the series, before leaving for two additional laps.

No need to go out in the cold or invest: everything is done at home to stay in shape. And if you want to optimize your weight loss during your lunch break, the office stairs will do the trick. Any opportunity is good to activate your energy expenditure and feel lighter this winter.
