No need to invest in ultra-technical cloths to dust easily, you probably already have the accessory that will be most effective for this task.
Cleaning can quickly become expensive if you equip yourself with accessories that are supposed to make cleaning easier. Many rags or wipes are, for example, particularly designed to retain dust effectively, with the promise of a cleaner home with less effort. While these solutions are generally very effective, they require a certain investment even though you probably have an accessory at home that you can reuse at no cost. In addition to being super effective for getting rid of dust, it will also be useful for getting rid of animal hair.
To find this magic cloth, go to the dressing room where you may keep some tights or spun stockings. Rather than throwing them in the trash, reuse them and see how effective they are. Often made of nylon or spandex, pantyhose that you no longer use are particularly useful for dusting, as they create a slight static electricity when rubbed against a surface. This action then naturally attracts the dust particles, a bit like a magnet, and holds them in the fibers of the fabric. Practical, the tights also have a fine and flexible texture which allows them to be slipped into hard-to-reach corners. And as they are very soft, they can also be used on fragile surfaces without risk of scratches.
Likewise, spun tights are an ideal solution for pet owners as the electrostatic effect will attract hair in the same way as dust. By rubbing pantyhose on a sofa, carpet or even clothing, the hairs easily stick to the nylon without scattering.
If you want to optimize this technique even further, you can lightly dampen the tights with water (without wetting them completely) to capture dust and hair even better. This method is particularly effective on textile surfaces, such as cushions or throws, which often retain animal hair.
Once the tights are dirty, shake them to remove dust, hand wash them with a little soap or machine wash them in a delicates wash bag, then reuse them until that they are too worn out for cleaning.
