Many French people are looking for a job, having an interview or taking training. And in all this, there is assistance from France Travail allowing you to save up to 5,200 euros per year.
Spring is almost coming to an end, the terraces are already overflowing, the trains to the coast are starting to fill up… but while some are looking at the prices of vacation rentals, others are mainly putting in the miles to find a job for the start of the school year. Interview 80 kilometers from home, training in another city, temporary assignment which starts on Monday morning at 7 a.m…. and inevitably, the transport or fuel budget climbs. What many people still don’t know is that France Travail is planning a system to prevent these expenses from becoming an obstacle to a resumption of activity.
Contrary to what many imagine, this aid is not reserved for RSA recipients. It can also be paid to job seekers who receive little or no unemployment benefits. According to official information from the French administration, it concerns in particular people not receiving compensation or those whose unemployment benefit does not exceed 32.13 euros per day. Certain employees returning to work or starting a business may also be entitled to it depending on their situation. The objective is very concrete: to allow someone to accept training, an interview or a contract even when the travel is expensive.
However, the conditions remain quite precise. To benefit from support as part of a job search or return to work, the journey must exceed 60 kilometers round trip or represent more than two hours of travel in total. And not all contracts are affected. France Travail mainly targets permanent contracts, fixed-term contracts of at least three months, temporary assignments of the same duration, but also certain work-study contracts. Public competitions and several training courses validated by France Travail can also be included in the system. Clearly, it is not a question of financing a small improvised return trip to submit a CV near home, but of helping people who really have to travel to advance in their professional career.
This aid has a name: Mobility Assistance from France Travail. Reimbursement can cover several types of expenses. For car journeys, compensation is set at 0.23 euros per kilometer traveled. Meals can also be covered up to 6.25 euros per day and overnight stays up to 31.20 euros. The request must be made fairly quickly after the trip.
For a job interview, the file must be sent before the appointment or within seven days following it. For entry into training, the delay can be up to thirty days after the start of the course. Everything then goes through the France Travail personal space with the usual supporting documents: summons, certificate of attendance, train tickets, hotel invoice or proof of resumption of activity. In total, this support can reach up to 5,200 euros over twelve rolling months. A sum that couldn’t be more advantageous.
