A beauty device promises skin cleansing and hydration worthy of salon treatment. But what is it really?

Going to a beauty salon for skin care is not necessarily possible every week. Between time constraints, the deadline for an appointment and (let’s say it frankly) the cost of the latter, the obstacles are numerous. But a brand particularly popular with beauty fans has found a solution. A new skin care tool (launched in April) that could well replace appointments with the facialist, or at least space them out. Largely inspired by the Hydrafacial (an in-study process that cleanses, exfoliates, hydrates and protects facial skin), this small device promises similar results from the comfort of your bathroom.

On paper, the promise is enough to make you dream. Just imagine: an increase in hydration of around 128%, instantly plumped skin and that famous glow signature that we thought we could only obtain after an hour spent in expert hands. Designed by a technological beauty giant that has had a string of successes in recent times, this concentrate of innovation combines the power of gentle suction with an infusion of active ingredients. The Shark Beauty FacialPro Glow comes with two main tips: a thermal one (called DePuffi) which can produce cold or heat and whose shape is inspired by Gua Sha, then a second with four suction cups.

The procedure to follow? Start with the hot tool and massage to soften dead skin and sebum. Then, apply the exfoliating gel provided with the device. We change the tip to start a cycle of suction and infusion of water, before applying the Hydro Infuse moisturizing treatment with BHA. This process will cleanse and deeply hydrate the epidermis. Finally, we finish with a new session with the tip DePuffibut this time in fresh mode in order to redefine the contours of the face but also to boost radiance. Guilty pleasure? Then open the water tank of the FacialPro Glow to observe all the impurities removed from the face.

The good news? After testing, it turns out that even the most reactive and sensitive skin can use the tool without risk (provided the suction level is adjusted). When discovering the device, all the equipment and the different bits may seem difficult to master. But once you have it in hand, the routine only takes about fifteen minutes and can be done weekly.

Directly after the treatment, the skin is plump, soft, dehydration lines less visible, and the face appears lifted. After a few weeks of use, it is clearer and the complexion is brighter. The downside? Its price of €349.99. A high cost, but which pays for itself quite quickly if you are used to going to an institute every month for a Hydrafacial.
