With its dated decor and bidet, this bathroom seemed in bad shape. Revised and corrected by Les Murs ont des Oreilles, it is full of modernity and comes a long way.
This 100 m² had nothing to attract its new occupants. Completely redesigned by the amazing team that I am going to introduce to you, it has since been given a new look and regained color. Located on the 6th floor of a 1970s residence in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, the apartment nevertheless benefited from serious advantages: double exposure, a balcony and a clear view. Inside, the situation was less encouraging.
The decorator and founder of the Les Murs ont des Oreilles agency, Valérie Laporte Volatier, accompanied by the DPLG architect Charlotte Soissons Lenormand and the architect and decorator Brice Bourdon, discovers volumes that are too compartmentalized, frozen in their juice. Everywhere, aging fittings, Japanese straw on the walls, stained pink carpet on the floor… So many elements which no longer corresponded at all to the expectations of the new owners, a couple with two teenagers.
To transform this family apartment in 4 months and with a budget of 125,000 euros including tax, the team first chose to largely decompartmentalize the spaces – entrance, airlock, dressing room and bathroom – before redesigning the volumes with more contemporary partitions: claustra, glass roof and sliding pocket door. The networks were then completely taken over, with an upgrade of the electricity, heating and plumbing, key positions on the site. Custom joinery was created in the entrance, the office, the laundry room and the WC, supplemented by a TV unit, a headboard and storage in the master bathroom. Last decisive touch: the paint, designed to respond to the couple’s desire for blue, enhanced with subtle sunny notes which bring warmth and personality to the whole.
Let’s take a closer look at the only bathroom in the house: a period bathroom that needed a serious makeover, don’t you think? With its constrained volumes and its aging finishes, it was difficult to see. Its dated equipment didn’t help matters and the light was lacking. Fortunately, the potential was there and just waiting to be revealed.
Reinvented as a bathroom for the couple’s two teenagers, these approximately 3.9 m² echo the parental bathroom. Natural oak imitation tiles, Lodge Zione by Leroy Merlin, adorn the large shower wall, while the floor and other walls are adorned with matte marble effect tiles, Murano by Leroy Merlin. The ceiling remains immaculate thanks to the All White shade from Farrow&Ball.
Another incredible transformation from Les Murs ont des Oreilles, a fantastic team with whom we can only recommend working.
