This fall, a dress is unanimous in the stars. Romantic and sexy, they even bypassed its use to carry it every day.
Some summer outfits should not necessarily be stored in the closet simply because the season has changed. Even if it is colder, it is a shame to wear certain outfits only one or twice a year because of the temperature. And that, a lot of people, including stars, understood. This is why, in recent years, the way of dressing has changed.
Nowadays, we no longer wear the dress as before. In autumn or winter, when temperatures drop and the sky turns gray, we wear it with a t-shirt below for example, or a turtleneck. The new season is more placed under the sign of layering (superposition of clothes). This means that you should not necessarily put all your outfits in the closet while waiting for next year. Just take inspiration from the stars outfits in the 2000s where the Y2K trend was at its peak.
This return is not any outfit that makes its appearance. If the tights and lace dresses were the most popular last season, especially on the red carpet of the Oscars, today, the accent is put on another dress with similar charm: the satin nightie dress. As romantic, however, it has kept a touch of lace, which is not about to disappear. We could see it during the Patou parade, which presented a whole collection of dresses, combinations and tights in black lace, during the Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026 New York.
The satin dress has a touch of lace, at the waist for example, like that carried by Iris Mittenaere to the Venice Mostra; A magnificent light blue satin dress signed Meshki. But also, at the level of the chest, like the yellow dressed by Zoë Kravitz at the first of Caught Stealing in Paris on August 25.
However, this is no longer carried as before. Fashionistas now prefer to put it over … jeans! This trend, which does not date from yesterday, makes its comeback this return to school. Barbara Palvin showed the example with a long asymmetrical top in blue satin that she wore with pants. Even if it was not a dress proper, this outfit perfectly reflects the trend.
So do not hesitate to recreate this trend by adopting the satin dress and why not by associating it with pants so that it can wear it every day, and not in evening!
