An action that can be carried out in one click, with nearly 200 euros in savings per year.

In 2026, it will be difficult to navigate mobile offers. Large operators like SFR, Orange or Bouygues Telecom continue to adjust their prices over the months. At the same time, promotional offers are multiplying. Today, a plan with unlimited calls and SMS and around 20 GB of data costs around 20 to 22 euros per month in 4G. For 5G, you have to count between 26 and 28 euros. Prices that are generally stable, but which mask strong disparities depending on the moment and the customer profile.

In fact, these prices mainly correspond to introductory offers, those which serve to attract new customers. Once subscribed, the situation changes. A reduction disappears after a few months, an option is added, or a “service upgrade” justifies a few euros more on the bill. Thus, over time, the gap widens. Meanwhile, operators continue to offer new packages at discounted prices… but only to recruit. As a result, two subscribers with a very similar plan can pay very different amounts. Some remain around 10 or 15 euros thanks to a recent offer, while others easily exceed 30 euros for an equivalent service.

In this context, the only way to stay in the low range is to change operator regularly. As long as promotions are reserved for new customers, staying loyal means, in most cases, letting the best prices slip away. In practice, those who move from one operator to another every one to two years keep a package around 10 to 20 euros, while others go well beyond that. The saving is far from being anecdotal: between 120 and 200 euros per year on average, sometimes more depending on the initial package.

What’s more, today, everything is done to simplify change. The portability of the number allows you to keep your line without interruption, and the process can be done in just a few minutes. Simply compare offers, choose a new plan, and let the new operator take care of the rest. No need to cancel yourself, or notify your former supplier. In a few days, the shift is made. There remains the question of termination fees. Many packages today are non-binding, therefore can be canceled at any time without charge. For offers with commitment (12 or 24 months), fees may apply, but they are limited, especially after the first year. Additionally, many operators refund these fees to attract new customers.

Last key point: remember to regularly check the available offers. You don’t need to do this every month, but taking a look once or twice a year is often enough to spot a better opportunity. Namely that thehe networks are today generally equivalent for traditional use, and the differences in service are limited for the majority of users. What really changes is the amount at the end of the month.
