We often talk about difficult ages in children, but what about ages that enchant parents? From early childhood to age of reason, mothers reveal their favorite period to us and explain why these moments remain engraved in their memory.

Terrible Two, adolescence crisis, whims of early childhood … The difficult ages of our children regularly feed conversations between adults. But what about the magic periods that melt and recall why parents love their role? Whether your children are now 5, 25 or 45, you necessarily remember this particular age when everything seemed simpler. This blessed period when the hugs were spontaneous, where dad and mom were still heroes and where each little discovery illuminated the family daily life. Between the white nights of the first months and exhausting adolescence negotiations, there is indeed an age group that most parents keep in mind.

The testimonies of parents that we have collected confirm this trend, even if the ages vary according to families. All of them have in common the magic of childhood. “For my daughter Camille who is 14 years old today, my favorite age was her 3 and a half years. It was the age at which she returned to kindergarten and it was a happiness for me to see her so curious to discover everything around her”told uslia. “Her big blue eyes sparkled when she got to know her mistress, her comrades … She was so proud of the evening to tell us what she had learned, to show us everything she was capable of: to write words, to decipher syllables, recite a whole poetry.”

For her second daughter Justine, Amélia preferred the period “From her birth to her 2 and a half years. Justine was a calm baby, who quickly made her nights. I loved this period because I lived it without the pressure that I had for the first. I took advantage of every moment: watching it wake up little by little, having its first smiles and chirping, walking on all fours”, she added. Marion, mother of a little boy and a 9 year old girl, shares the same feeling as Amélia during this period: “From their 1 to 3 years old, it was great. They were very calm, they were amazed for everything. I particularly liked the first year, when they start to chirbone, to turn around, to crawl, it was really beautiful to see”, she said. Other parents rather accuse the age of reason …

Olivia preferred “7 years old and 10 years old in her two children. 7 years old, it was really the age of reason for Maé: she became more independent for homework, making her satchel. And for Gabriel who was in the class of the biggest, it was really a boost of trust for him. He was watching over his sister at the recess at school”, she admitted to us. Anne, mother of two daughters now aged 32 and 28, confirms with hindsight: “I appreciated the latency period from 6 to 12 years old, my daughters were not in opposition. They were large enough to be independent in many everyday things, but still small enough to want to spend time with us and tell us all about their day “, she told us.
